About Great Guana Cay:
Great Guana Cay is a barrier island in the Abaco chain of islands in the Bahamas. The third largest reef sits just off shore. The island has about 150 residents but there are quite a few second homeowners and visitors. Guana Cay is a beautiful tropical island with gorgeous beaches that are never crowded and the color of the water is unbelievable! It is secluded yet has all the necessities. There are a few restaurants and bars, a grocery store and a liquor store. Dive Guana offers scuba diving and snorkeling trips, and they also rent nice 21ft. to 23ft. boats for fishing, diving or exploring on your own. World-famous Nipper’s Beach Bar and Grill has very good food and they are family-friendly with a swimming pool. It’s always fun and people come from all of the neighboring islands to visit, especially on Sunday afternoon for the weekly pig roast. Grabber's Bar & Grill is fun, too and a great place to watch the beautiful Guana sunset. Beach Dream is within walking distance to all the fun
Bedroom Details:
All of the bedrooms have been furnished with high thread-count sheets and bedding. The master bedroom has a king bed with French doors that open onto the front deck and gorgeous colors of the ocean. The master bath has double sinks with a shower tiled to the ceiling. The second master also has a king bed with its own entrance into the bathroom that can also be accessed from the hallway. It has a tub/shower that is also tiled to the ceiling. The half bath is located near the third and fourth bedrooms. The third bedroom has a queen bed and the fourth has a bunk bed and a twin bed.
Restaurants and Shops on Great Guana Cay :
World-famous Nipper’s Beach Bar and Grill is family-friendly with a swimming pool and good food. It’s always fun and people come from all of the neighboring islands to visit, especially on Sunday afternoon for the weekly pig roast. A local character named Milo runs a stand on the main harbour street that offers home-grown vegetables, citrus and lobster tails. The Art Café is a good spot for breakfast and lunch in addition to baked goods, and don’t forget Grabber’s for dinner and to watch the spectacular sunsets. Pirate Cove’s Tiki Hut has a daily special for lunch and dinner as well as ice cream. Another option is Orchid Bay Yacht Club & Marina which has a nice restaurant as well as a full-service marina. Beach Dream is within walking distance to everything, but it’s fun to rent a golf cart for a day or two to explore the entire seven mile island.
