This newly renovated cottage sits in the middle of Levuka Town, overlooking the harbor. A one minute walk to local shops, and a few minutes to local villages, sports grounds, waterfalls and nature walks. Levuka is a sleepy town on the Island of Ovalau, founded by traders in 1830, recently nominated for a UNESCO World Heritage Listing. Ovalau may be reached by air or ferry from Suva. Flights from Nadi are scheduled to begin in 2009, so check with airlines. The cottage is decorated in a modern colonial style with an excellent kitchen, separate bathroom and toilet and ceiling fans. The veranda overlooks the harbor,and enjoys a constant gentle breeze. Some guests may be surprised by the constant hum of the local power station, a feature of Levuka life. Like Fiji's heat, you get used to it quickly! If you are looking to truly get away from the world, you won't do better!
