Off the backyard, a grassy path leads to another lawn area. Along one edge, a golf net is hung, complete with hitting surface. Shag balls are available. A Badminton set (net, racquet's, and birdies) is included. A basketball hoop is furnished along with Wiffle ball bats and balls. Fishing rods, fresh and saltwater, are supplied. A number of adult and children's' books and games are available for your use.

The closest beach is Red River, 1.5 miles. It is an easy walk or can be biked as well. There is one busy road crossing at Route 28 so younger children need supervision. One day parking passes are $15. Weekly beach stickers are available at the Community Center for $55. Stronger swimmers might like the challenge of Nauset Beach on the National Sea Shore Park. Families looking for wading pools and long stretches of beach flats with warm, shallow waters need only make a short trip to the north side of the Cape to Sea St. Beach or Corporation Beach. Daily parking fees would apply as these beaches are not in Harwich.
