This is an adorable cottage with a large, well-shaded backyard and patio located on a quiet dead-end street in Oxford. The house is just steps from Oxford Harbor - with views of the water from the front stoop. The neighborhood is safe, gorgeous, kid-friendly. The historic town of Oxford with stores, restaurants, marinas, parks is only a five minute walk away. The house is beautifully decorated with hardwood floors, bamboo furniture, sisal carpets, several comfortable couches (excellent for napping) and a large kitchen with all modern amenities. One bedroom has a queen bed and is furnished with white wicker. The second large bedroom has 2 twins and a sitting area with views into the backyard. The town boasts its own small ferry that travels to St. Michaels, Maryland, a historic town with shops, restaurants, and a famous maritime museum. Public tennis courts are just a few blocks towards town and golf is a short drive.

Oxford, Maryland: Oxford is a historic village located on a peninsula surrounded by Chesapeake Bay, with five excellent restaurants ranging from high-end to waterfront to casual. Several cute stores, a market with full service deli, wine, beer, groceries, galleries, antique stores, a small library and a historical museum are in town and within walking distance from the house. Oxford has car ferry service to St. Michaels, Maryland, another pleasant village with even more stores, antique stores, restaurants, a maritime museum and the award winning restaurant and spa at the Inn at Perry Cabin. Within walking distance are marinas, boating facilities, public tennis courts, a community center that boast activities, events, classes, and a firehouse that serves pancake breakfasts monthly. Biking, golf, sailing, boating, tennis, walking, swimming, bird-watching are all activities in the area. Easton, a large town with more shops, restaurants galleries, activities and events is a ten minute drive.

The perfect getaway!

Our family was looking for a weekend getaway & we found the perfect spot. We wanted to relax, enjoy each other and explore. This home and Oxford couldn't have been better.

The home was great! It is extremely clean, well-equipped, and comfortable. Our girls (ages 5 & 7) loved their over-sized room w/ 2 twin beds. Our master was perfect for us. The added bonus of the home is the shaded back yard. There was comfortable, cushioned furniture plus a nice table & chairs w/ it's own umbrella. We grilled out and loved the peace and quiet. Also, the home sits on a very quiet street w/ water at the end. It was so close and the street so quiet, that we let our kids walk down alone or together. They enjoyed the freedom.

Oxford was also a wonderful town for us. We walked in went to the town park many times (wished we would have brought our fishing poles), enjoyed the beautiful homes, road the ferry twice, and had great food. We went to The Masthead for dinner - wonderful meals and a stunning view. A must-do is The Highland Creamery! The entire family agreed that it is the best ice cream we have ever had. We went every day.

Both my husband and I compared this weekend to our childhoods. Our kids weren't entertained by electronics, they got to explore and play outside. The town has a slower feel and we all took advantage of our quality time together. We will definitely be back.
