When we lived in the Hungarian countryside for 18 months--90 minutes from Budapest by train--and needed a weekend escape to the city, we were fortunate to know the owner of this flat and used it regularly. Whenever we need a place in Budapest (and we return regularly), this property is always our first choice.

We have watched this property evolve into the handsomely furnished flat it has become. It's central in Pest, close to the Liszt Academy and Oktagon tér and Nyugati train station, in a safe neighborhood that is developing nicely with shops, restaurants and public transport quite close.

While the building is old and, like many old buildings in Budapest, needs some love, this flat on the 2nd level is absolutely beautiful.

You will be treated well by the owner who has taken great pains to make it a value for the cost.

In summary: spacious with beautiful furnishings, comfortable bed, modern appliances and bath and in a good location. Can't beat it!

High Class Hungarian Experience!

I stayed in this flat for two different long weekends and had a very positive experience both times. It is centrally located but very calm and quiet in the apartment. A perfect place to stay in and cook dinner or relax with a glass of fine Hungarian wine AND a perfect home base for enjoying the nightlife and sightseeing.

The description in the listing is accurate: the apartment was well-equipped, clean, very comfortable, spacious, quiet and has a luxurious and "authentic Hungarian" atmosphere. The neighborhood is very desirable, close to the opera house, shopping streets and many bars and restaurants on Listz Ferenc ter.

I would highly recommend Budapest as a vacation destination and would highly recommend staying in this lovely apartment!
