4-star house with extraordinary full service and rustic wine cellar. We provide you with tools like shovels, hoes, hammers, helmets, safety goggles and a super metal detector for the search for gemstones and treasure. A booking for a week and longer as well as the new guest card 'Tickets for the gemstone region' is included in the full service. On presentation of the guest card you are granted concession at the entrance of the following 13 tourist attractions: the Felsenkirche in Idar-Oberstein, German gemstone museum, Industry monument Bengel, Biehl water loop, Idar-Oberstein museum, historical water loop, Steinkaulenberg gemstone mines, also in Asbacherhütte, the Fischbacher copper mine, the Wildenburg castle, the historical Herrstein, the Schiefergrube Herrenberg, the fossil museum of Bundenbach as well as the Altburg Celtic settlement.
Wine cellar 'Small Vine-Louse'::
You can have an unforgettable experience in our small, old arched cellar. Not only the cool Kirner beer in earthen pitchers but also the aromatic, fruity wine of Nahe will taste better in candlelight. If you want to sample the wine yourself, we provide you with a selection of excellent white and red wines, vintage champagnes and brandies from the region, including a detailed description. If you like, we will gladly arrange a wine-tasting for you. The Riesling, Burgundy, Sylvan, Rivaner or Dornfelder wines age very well in the cool cellar. The arrangement receives a special grade for its portly selections, wines of selected grapes and ice wines. Vintage champagne in traditional bottle fermentation and grape brandy round off this offer. Those who cultivate the taste, can be let into the secrets of the wine culture by our wine-growers.
Handcars Adventure Tours:
The handcar tour is the absolute tourist attraction in our region. Therefore many Saturdays, Sundays and holidays for 2005 are already fully booked. Go on a terrific tour on the 40 km long tracks, running without electricity, but with a high fun factor. The hand car is steered by two persons pedaling, just as on a bicycle, and runs straight on four wheels on the tracks. Two additional persons can also come along. Starting from 2005, there is more fun for groups up to 14 persons on a large hand-levered handcar, with 4 persons pedaling forwards, up to 10 additional persons can travel along. The RegioBus track lying parallel to the tracks can be used for the return journey. On weekdays there are buses every hour and on weekends there are buses every two hours. The laps are 20 or 40 kilometers long, halts are found every two kilometers. Registration imperative. We will help you with it.
Golf:
The next golf course is in Kirschweiler (Tel. 06781 - 366 15). The 'Edelstein - Hunsrück' golf-club at the edge of the forest has a very beautiful location with 9 holes and driving range as well as 3-hole-plot for beginners. Vacation courses and special coaching hours for beginners are also possible.
You find the most beautiful golf course in Bad Münster am Stein-Ebernburg, which you can reach in 30 minutes by car. It is one of the top 20 in Germany. Challenging but fair - the 18-hole-championship course of the Nahe valley Golf Club can be so characterised (Tel. 06708/ 21445). Primarily, a straight, precise and tactically clever game is possible on the 5.883 meters long (ladies 5,154 meters) Par 72 course, as the Fairways is lined with old trees. The Stromberg-Schindeldorf (Tel. 06724/ 93080), the Rolling Hills GC Baumholder (Tel. 06783/ 8788) and the golf course at the Hahn airport are the additional golf courses within the radius of 35 km.
