Watch the whales and dolphins from the privacy of the second-floor shaded terrace of your casita. Relax by the pool with a book from our large selection. Stargaze from a two-person hammock. Cool off or swim laps in the 45-foot lap pool, with the Talavera-tiled outdoor shower and bathroom nearby. Wiggle your toes in the warm sand of our private beach or doze in a hammock under the shade palapa. Your casita provides you with complete privacy and features a custom kitchen with marble counter tops, fully equipped including full-size refrigerator and stove, coffee maker, microwave, toaster, blender. Although the casita is technically a studio, the sleeping area is completely separated from the living area by a low wall, providing some added privacy to both areas. The Talavera-tiled bathroom has a large shower and a hand-painted Mexican sink. We also supply a hairdryer and cozy terrycloth robes for your comfort. The spacious walk-in closet gives you plenty of storage and a safe area for your valuables. Our gated property provides ample secure parking.

Our guests often tell us they enjoy being close enough to Todos Santos or Cabo San Lucas to enjoy what they offer, but love coming 'home' the the serenity and privacy we provide here. There is tennis nearby. Private yoga or classes are also available. Enjoy a massage in the privacy of your casita. Other spa treatments on site can be arranged. Our beach is a natural nesting ground for the protected sea turtles. You are invited to participate in the release of turtle hatchlings. This property and owner are properly registered with the Mexican government.

Just what we were looking for. After 7 months of winter, what a wonderful, palce to relax. Guenter and Melanie are fantastic hosts with tons of helpful information. Sunset dinners at the beach palapa, cocktails by the pool, peace quiet and TONS OF FISHING!!!!!!!. They have thought of everything for the casita. Nothing to worry about at all. Just kick back and relax!!!!

Fabulous place, fabulous hosts!

We had an absolutely wonderful time staying at Villa Puesta del Sol in July of 2009. The casita is clean, comfortable and well-appointed, and the view is simply amazing. We spent most of our time just sitting on the balcony reading (from the terrific selection of beach books) and staring at the waves.

Melanie & Guenter couldn't have been more gracious hosts - they were very welcoming & generous with their time & advice about the area, and had great stories to share of their life adventures. They have lived in the area for 13 years and seem to know everyone and everything about it. We particularly enjoyed having yoga classes on the beach and a massage from friends of theirs.

If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing get-away, you will definitely be satisfied here!

More Than We Hoped For!

Yes...its as peaceful, relaxing and blue as the photos depict. As frequent travelers to Mexico (over 30 trips) we were ready for something more mellow than the typical 'resort' experience. Villa Puesta del Sol delivered. The accommodations and setting were beautiful, serene, private and neat as a pin. Every little thing you might need has been provided. But the 'piece de resistance' would be the hosts; Melanie and Guenter. What charming and warm innkeepers. Its a delicate balance yet they do it so well...giving us complete privacy but gracing us with their company as dinner companions when we asked them to join us. The wine poured freely in the poolside cabana with built-in BBQ and kitchen facilities. It made for layed back, as well as lively, nights of entertainment with them. It was simply the best!

Relax to the beat of the wild ocean

This comfortable off-the-grid casita is in an expat enclave on five miles of wild Pacific shore with clean sand and a surf so powerful it sometimes tosses up smooth granite stones the size of Keen sandals. (We carried one back in our checked luggage, prepared to call it "a Buddha foot" if questioned by Customs.) Don't even think about swimming except at Los Cerritos, a four-mile walk north, where we found a public beach with beautiful surfers and a private club with excellent food service. We enjoyed a Sunday jazz singer, nachos and enchiladas and strong margaritas, which gave us fuel for the shore walk home. You can count on seeing pelicans, gulls, vultures, and lightning-fast sand crabs any time along the shore and sometimes just off shore dolphins rounding up fish including tasty yellow-fin croakers. In January and February, we were told, humpback whales spawn just off shore and in season sea turtles drag themselves up to lay eggs in the sand.

This palm-shaded rental is exactly as advertised. The added bonus is the warm hospitality of Melanie and Guenter. While they are very respectful of your privacy, they will offer reliable advice about the local community, where to buy groceries, good restaurants, car rentals, walks, hikes and drives in the area. They have access to community resources, including a fantastic yoga instructor. We often made the 20-minute drive to enjoy the ambience, art and great restaurants at Todos Santos, a town with a 1950's Santa Fe feel. But most of the time, during our three week stay, we just lounged around in the casita or by the pool reading books and relaxing. This is a perfect place to shed tension and the cares of the world.

This was my fourth visit to Villa Puesta del Sol and certainly will not be my last. It is as beautiful and relaxing as the first time. Melanie and Guenther are fantastic hosts and certainly add to the charm with their welcoming accomodations. Baja Sur has so much to offer for every kind of traveler and I would highly recommend the ATV tour or golfing in Cabo but staying by the pool is still the best part of the trip. Thank you and I hope to return as soon as possible.
