I've been staying at a number of different places on Roatan since the mid-1990's. I work in the adventure travel business, so I'm used to all sorts of habitations and management styles, but the Jiveshack has all the other spots I've stayed beat hands-down. In addition to it being such a sweet little spot with such an awesome view, I've never stayed anywhere that was better laid out for the visitor. Every possible little thing has been thought of whether it be appliances, dishes, glassware, candles, CD's, back-up power, good neighbors...it’s all there. We Care!

We booked the Jiveshack not knowing anything about it . . . It turned out to be the perfect choice and we'd book it again without hesitation. The view was wonderful, the breeze was pleasant, and the accommodations were both funky and practical. We had no issues with anything. We had a several questions during our stay and Jamila and Suzy were more than willing to help. The neighbors were all very friendly and welcoming . . . We totally enjoyed our stay! I have not found a more peaceful and serene vacation spot. The view is amazing and the Jiveshack is like a home away from home. Make yourself at home at Jiveshack

I remember the first morning I woke up there. It was BRUTALLY early because of the time change. The sounds of the jungle were so vibrant since no one else on the planet was awake yet. I went up the stairs . . .I found that little deserted old church and was wondering at it, when this little black and white dog leaped joyfully out of the bushes and ran at me. My normal reaction would have been to be afraid . . . but she was so happy to see me, she was actually smiling. She became my constant companion during the entire trip. Pantera would follow me on my walks . . . The temperature was perfect; Jiveshack was peaceful and so well equipped. We lived on the front porch for hours with Pantera, watching the water and listening to the sounds of WILD all around us. All in all ladies, we had an awesome time. You will love your neighbors

We had the pleasure of staying at Jiveshack which is nestled on a high hill overlooking one of the coves on Roatan's North coast. (GREAT Breeze almost all day) The accommodations were far better than the pictures show. The house is beautiful inside and out. We spent most of the days reading on the porch or walking a few hundred feet to the water where my dive master picked me up a few times a week. We stayed for a month and were sorry to leave. The neighbors were warm and welcoming. If you're looking for a non touristy section of the island this home is perfect. The owners were quick to respond to all our requests and questions both before our trip and while we were there. Relax in a hammock, or take a zipline tour!

My husband and I decided to have an adventure trip for our 20th anniversary. We decided to stay at the Jiveshack rental in Roatan, Honduras. Although the island is known for diving (and we do not) we had plenty of fascinating and positive adventures. First off, the accommodations were lovely. I would recommend renting a 4x4 vehicle as we explored many features of the island. Where else can you sit on the deck in a hammock and watch wild horses just trot on by? We loved the zipline experience, snorkeling in the reef, kayaking (with available kayak on site), visiting with neighbors in Punta Blanca, and spending the afternoon relaxing on the hammock overlooking the water. We at local foods, fresh fish, fried plantains, etc. This is a real adventure trip, not a pampered resort. We left with a lifetime of experience and soaked in the cavalcade of nature's best colors. --Amor and Fatima H., Fullerton, CA, USA
