Bring your family to a fun and relaxing retreat in the mountains of West Virginia. At Pyne Mountain Farm we serve as a Bed and Breakfast, Retreat Center, and Vacation Rental. We're located in the Southeast corner of West Virginia, close to the border with Virginia. Blacksburg, VA is a one hour drive away. We're also just minutes South of Lewisburg, WV, rated one of the top 100 small towns in the country for its art, theater, and culture. There is so much to do at the estate. We have 500 acres, mountain views, streams with minnows and crayfish, stocked ponds, ATVs, trails, forest, and lots of animals: horses, dogs, cats, chipmunks, some times cows and more. Near by there are caves, world class golf courses, mountain tops, lakes, a dam, a buffalo farm, an alpaca/lama farm (with ostriches), a farmer's market and much more.

We are conveniently located a few minutes drive South of Lewisburg, WV which was named as one of the top 100 small towns in the US for its verve and culture. The county is also home to many other attractions ranging from diverse wildlife to outstanding natural resources.

We had a group that started with 13 and then 4 more joined us midweek. Ages ranged from 5 - 69. The young ones loved the cats, dogs (Taz and Nugget), and horses. Make sure you take apples or carrots to feed the horses and they will be your best friends. The teenagers loved the 4 wheeler rides on the trails. They loved it even more after we got some rain and the trails got a little muddy. The older ones loved the relaxing surroundings and the bonfires at night. We did some shopping on Main Street in Lewisburg - very nice shops. We also hiked up to Hanging Rock Raptor Observatory - WOW what a view. Took in some golf too. Back at the house Dave and Teresa were most helpful. They brought us fresh mushrooms and cherries and offered us items from their garden. They are only a stones throw away and were ready to help in any way. Thanks for a relaxing week for the adults and a busy week for the younger ones. I would recommend bringing a fan as there was only one at the present time and some of the evenings got a little stuffy.
