Peaceful Weekend Retreat

I was attracted to this listing by all the great photos posted on the website and I was not disappointed. Just walking in the door of this spacious, clean, well maintained, very attractively furnished home was relaxing. We especially loved the roomy screened in porch, expansive backyard and the dock jutting out into Lake Dunlap with its pastoral setting. Mindy was was very friendly, helpful and great to work with.
The beds were very comfortable. There were ample pillows and blankets. The bathrooms were clean and large with soap and shampoo. The kitchen was very well stocked with plates and cookware. I enjoyed all the kitchen counter space and being able to see the waterfront and backyard while preparing a meal. You can dine inside or outside on the screened porch.
I think this house is best suited for those wanting to relax, unwind, reflect, converse and have family time together. This house is situated in a quiet lakeside non-commercial neighborhood. If you or your children want entertainment, bring it with you or venture into New Braunfels or Gruene. We rented an inflatable kayak in the nearby town of Gruene and we paddled around the lake on a perfectly warm sunny fall day. In the evening we conversed and played board games I brought with us on the screened in porch.
We all left refreshed and rejuvenated after our weekend at this lovely home on Lake Dunlap and look forward to returning again in 2010.
