Beautiful Maine Vacation Home for rent near Damerascotta, 3 hours from Boston, this home sits in a private area on the ocean across from the Audubon Island (Hog Island). You will wake up to seals, loons, various ducks as well as the lobster boats that come to check traps. 2 Kayaks available as well as a mooring. Additional information about rental rates

  • The cancelation policy:
    The deposit (once deposited) holds the dates.
    If the renter cancels the reservation before February 1st of the year the rental occurs, then there is a $300 fee/week for the cancelation. The remaining paid balance will be returned to the renter.
    After February 1st:
    One week rental: the deposit is entirely non refundable if it is a week rental.
    Two week rental: 1/2 the deposit will be returned if both weeks in question are rented by another renter, or two different renters.

Lease Agreement: The lease agreement is in two parts. One for the House itself and one for the Dock and waterfront. I will email you a pdf version for you to print, sign and mail back with the deposit. The deposit consists of 1/2 of the rental fee. The second half of the rental fee plus a security deposit is due 30 days before the rental period begins. The Security deposit will be returned within 2 months after the rental period is over (due to the phone bill. We don't get the phone bill but one a month, and the local phone company does not have this information online)

Gorgeous property, beautiful view. We had an amazing time. You feel like you're in the forest, but right in front of you is the ocean. It's very private and very peaceful, but just a short drive from a good grocery store and a tad further for a fresh, tasty lobster dining right on the water.

The master bedroom has a stunning view - though prepare to wake up with the sun!! A perfect getaway even with a 2 and 4-year-old along with us. A well-equipped kitchen, nice dining area and a large living area. The living area is open, but divided by a just a few steps. The effect is lovely, providing a bright sunny dining area and lounge and then a cozy space with a beautiful fire-place. We met a few spiders in the darker back bedrooms, but overall the house was clean. My only complaint was probably due to us being one, if not the, first guests of the season - the furniture smelled dusty. No dust on surfaces, but in the cushons and throw blankets the smell was strong. The fresh ocean air flowing through the windows and sliding door helped immensely.

Young children will need constant supervision when outside as the short trail to the water is steep and the beach is very rocky. The float was great fun for (pretend) fishing. It was too cold for swimming during our stay in early June. Major mosquitos, so keep your spray handy!!

The owner was very kind and helpful! We would positively stay again.

Overall, one of our best vacations ever!!
