Notes: A wonderland for children, a tree house sits between two trees. A rope swing straddles the stream below the tree house. The river in the summer has a gentle current and is shallow with a gradual depth to adult waist in the middle of the river. The NY side of the river can be 6-7 ft deep with a stronger current. Bald eagles, beaver, deer, turkeys, porcupine and other animals have all been spotted around the cabin.

Further details for this holiday cabin rental on the Delaware River Valley, USA

Surrounding Area: Many of our visitors have told us they enjoy simply staying at the cabin, reading, birdwatching and exploring the river and forest. But if you want to venture farther out, two miles north of the cabin lies the quaint town of Narrowsburg, NY. Browse the local art and antique galleries. Experience the Tusten Theatre. Relive history with a visit to Fort Delaware. Or take a drive along the beautiful winding roads which parallel the river. Down stream is the historic Zane Grey House. 30 minutes to Honesdale to stroll the streets or ride the Stourbridge Rail, a steam engine journey to the wild west.

Ski Area: 20 minute drive to a choice of two ski slopes, Tanglewood or Big Bear. There are great cross-country ski trails in Promise Land State Park, 30 minutes from the cabin.

The River: This area of the river boasts of some of the most exciting and varied water on the Delaware River. North of the cabin runs Skinners Falls, a challenging section of rapids. Then the water flows into Narrowsburg over the deepest water in the river. On the stretch of river between Narrowsburg and the cabin, there are rocks and cliffs from which to jump into the river. Further down the river are more rapids and eventually the highest and fastest water on the Delaware. Tubes, canoes and kayaks are available at the house and more to rent from local outfitters.

Outstanding Getaway Weekend

smallmouthbass bucks county
Review Submitted: October 2, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
Had a great weekend with three fishing buddies from work. Easy to get to, beautiful quiet surroundings, the property provides a clean comfortable cabin that is less then two minutes from the river right off the back porch. All of us caught fish every day up and down the river. The use of kayaks and canoe made it even better and seeing an eagle right behind the house was extra nice.

Everything we needed was on property, and food can be had in Narrowsburg about five minutes away.

If you like the outdoors, fish, or just want to getaway;
go to the riverfront cabin.

Perfect Getaway

Review Submitted: November 23, 2009 Date of Stay: November 2009
My family and I rented the cabin for a quiet family getaway for my husbands 40th birthday. It was a charming cabin full of family bonding time. The eagles were there singing to us every morning as we sat on the porch, and the peacefulness of the woods was very relaxing. A perfect place to just get away from it all. We can't wait to go back!! Great great vacation!

Birdwatchers Paradise

Elizabeth J Bergen County, NJ
Review Submitted: October 9, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
Just returned from wonderful week of solitude at the cabin with my boyfriend and black lab. The cabin was clean and cozy. The owners have thoughtfully provided lots of amenities.such as kayaks, canoes, firewood, field guide etc.
The highlight of our trip was watching a pair of bald eagles, which were roosting, across the river from the cabin. Each morniing, while drinking coffee on the porch we were lured to the river by their calls. On some occasions we were treated to the majestic sight of the eagles leaving thier roost as the mist rose.
Our trip was so enjoyable we're hoping to return this winter.

Wonderful stay!-

The most charming place we've ever stayed! The surrounding is beautiful and just steps away from the Delaware River.
TIP: If you canoe up the river ,on the right side there is a small island that you can land on, and just relax on its sandy beach ( Don't tell anyone ;) )
The inside of the cabin is super clean and very cozy.
Will definitely go back!

Looking for Peace and Quiet July 2009

solitude seeker Forest Hill, MD
Review Submitted: July 29, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
After a very busy spring, we were looking for a place for our family to spend some time together away from everything. We could not have asked for a better place to do that. The house cute, comfortable, clean and well supplied for anything. Whether you enjoy canoes or tubes on the river or choose to take the hiking trails, the days are filled with beautiful sky and lots of wildlife. The evenings were spend playing games or just sitting on the porch watching the birds, chipmunks and deer as then traveled through. We ate every meal at a table on the porch as we continued to watch the animals. It is a wonderful secluded cabin, great for unwinding and spending quality time with family. We had a great time and would love to visit again soon!
