The surroundings of Giberga Apartments:
We are next to the Valleys of Comapedrosa Communal Natural Park that is located in the parish of la Massana in the northwest of the Principality of Andorra. The protected surface area is 1542.6 hectares (15.42 sq.km.), but this is expected to be increased significantly in the near future. Its highest point is the 2,942-metre Comapedrosa, the highest peak in Andorra.
The main attractions of the area are the imposing high mountain landscape dominated by the Comapedrosa, known as the “giant” of Andorra (from which the park takes its name), the lakes, the waterfalls, and the natural springs. A network of footpaths and mountain refuges provide wonderful opportunities for hiking. The typical alpine and subalpine flora and fauna are well represented here. Both plants and animals have found ways to adapt to the rigors of the high mountain climate, making it a fascinating place for nature lovers.

Andorra has the largest ski-able area in the Pyrenees. Grandvalira (Pas de la Casa-Grau Roig and Soldeu-El Tarter) and Vallnord (Ordino-Arcalís and Pal-Arinsal Mountain Park), the two Alpine ski resorts have a total of 3,075 hectares of skiing area, -282 kilometres of pistes, 106 ski lifts, and 1,417 artificial snow cannons. These facilities, combined with those of the Rabassa and Parador Canaro snowfields, make Andorra the Land of Snow.
