'Windswept' is located high on a bluff overlooking the grand Choptank River in exclusive Algonquin Manor in Cambridge. The large, beautifully landscaped lot features 100 feet of river frontage and a brick seawall. Enjoy the views and the wildlife, while barbecuing the day's catch on the flagstone terrace. Then relax over dinner in the 'Crab Room', a delightful screened-in porch. The room offers an inviting combination of glass and brick walls, a slate floor and 180 degree views of the river. Or... enjoy a candlelight or family dinner in the traditional dining room complete with black granite and spectacular sunsets... or a relaxed, casual outdoor setting on the terrace surrounded by large oaks and lush foliage. We stayed at this property just this past month and it was wonderful. We wanted a peaceful setting but also wanted to enjoy Cambridge. This home is in a great, classic waterfront neighborhood that reminded us of Charleston South Carolina; older, perfectly-maintained, stately homes on the river.

The interior was warm and very well appointed and the furniture and linens were beautiful (it didn't feel like a rental). The waterfront had grand , old trees and a phenomenal view (it felt much like an estate). We spent hours on the rear lawn. The closeness to town made everyone happy - the kids walked to the park and we strolled through neighborhoods full of Victorian mansions. Restaurants and entertainment were so close we really enjoyed the whole area more than we had thought we would. The owner was also very accommodating - we highly recommend!
Recommended for:  Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
