Sailors house is a traditional stone built house in the center of the well known village Rakalj. It is the place where you find Istrian tradition, people welcome and beautiful nature in one place. Sailors house has it's own courtyard with two parking spaces, olive garden and external stone built shower. The house is 70 m2 big, it has ground floor, 35m2, with living room, kitchen, bathroom, stairs and a fireplace. On a first floor, also 35 m2, there are two bedrooms and a small hall. The house is traditionally decorated, stone + wood, with many ornaments like old sewing machine, navy knots, ship barometers, recalling to the great maritime history of Rakalj.

Rakalj is a small place on a eastern coast of Istria. It is placed on a rocky field, surrounded by beautiful and untouched nature and pure sea. The air is mixed up with freshness of Mediterranean herbs and as soon as you come in our village, you will feel the pleasure of coming so far. We are 512 years old village with greatest tradition of stone cutting, pottery, viticulture, growing olives. Rakalj is home of one of the greatest minds of Istrian history, Mate Balota with true name Mijo Mirkovi?. He was professor of philosophy, economy and social science. He was an writer, poet, but first of all fisherman, sailor, and just hard worker, just like many of humble people you will find when you come in this beautiful village.
