Deluxe, carefree, 4200sf custom log house. This is not your ordinary rental house. Built as a second home, it features many personal touches, ie. Western art from Cody galleries, mostly custom bedding ,an oversized Coleman grill and a riverfront jacuzzi with a CD player. The gourmet kitchen is spacious enough so the vacation chef will not bump into any culinary sidekicks. Two bedrooms and the sleeping suite front the river. The loft /library's private deck and one bedroom face the mountain. This Western retreat rests on 1/3 mile of the North Platte River and is frequented by deer, bugling elk, and wild turkeys. At the Glendo State Park / Marina one can enjoy water sports -boating,waterskiing, fishing, canoeing or just take a splash at the beach. With just a short drive you can visit the Old West's historic Fort Laramie, Register Cliffs, Medicine Bow National Park or be adventurous and hike to the top of Laramie Peak. New fire pit!

This was my first experience with Homeaway.com and I can only hope they will all be this great. The property is in terrific condition with plenty of ways to either entertain or just relax. The description and photos are accurate but I would suggest it is hard to capture the beauty of the property and surrounding landscape. The owner was very responsive and accomodating. We made this trip as a group of six guys for "guy's weekend". We purchased groceries in Wheatland on the way in from Denver CO (30 miles south of Glendo) and prepared meals throughtout the days. There is a gorgeous yard where we played football and took flyfishing lessons righ by the river. Many of us talked about how nice it would be for a family vacation or multiple families to get together for a getaway week or long weekend. I hesitate to "highly recommend" only because I would like for the property to remain available if I am able to return...however I will not be so selfish so I will share my "strong recommendation" for anybody who is considering the property.

Get away from it all

This rental was great. We had a small family reunion and it was perfect for that.

The house is magnificent as well as a manicured yard and scenery. We saw both elk and deer but what we didn't see many of were people...just a few tubing past in the river. An excellent getaway.

Rental arrangements were simple and as advertised.
Deposit was returned promptly and without questions.

Great stay and look forward to doing it again!
