Get close access to downtown Murphys and yet stay in a private, scenic location. This charming house is located along a mountain ridgeline offering beautiful near and distant views. The spacious rear deck provides a large, comfortable outdoor living and entertainment area. The house, located on 2 1/2 acres of private property, is well furnished and outfitted with all the amenities to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The kitchen is outfitted with gourmet pots and pans and cooking and eating utensils. If cooking while on your vacation is not your idea of fun, a variety of restaurants are minutes away. The house has phone service, 2 satellite serviced TVs with DVR and DVD player, washer and dryer, wood burning stove (wood provided), and a new couch and recliner. Furnished with lots of beautiful antiques, comfortable new beds and top notch linens, the house provides a restful getaway after your day full of the local activities the area has to offer.

Located three hours east of San Francisco in California's High Sierra Gold Country, the town of Murphys (founded in 1848 and then known as 'Queen of the Sierra') provides an incredible array of available activities: historic sites to see, fabulous restaurants, dozens of wineries, outdoor concerts, antique and eclectic shopping, art galleries, golfing, hiking, fishing, biking, rafting, and even a live playhouse. Special events are scheduled throughout the year. The town is generally above the fog of the Central Valley and below the snowline. Big Tree State Park is minutes away from the house. Bear Valley Ski Area and the Alpine Lake recreation area are located at nearby Ebbets Pass. Several outstanding golf courses are available. The town of Murphys was listed in the April 2006 issue of Frommers Budget Travel as one of the top 10 coolest small towns.
