Dock and the local area: A seasonal dock on the harbor with kayaks, a dinghy and a gaff-rigged 18’ sailboat (experienced sailors only) is available for use. A spacious sandy beach is within easy walking distance. The Town itself is a virtual museum. In the Historic District most of the houses date back to the 18th and 19th centuries and they project the essence of the Town. There are a number of great restaurants, art galleries, coffee cafes and historical sights. Salem, the 'Witch City', is the next town over and also has many interesting places to visit including the House of Seven Gables and the Peabody Museum, which is one of the best Maritime Museums in the world. If you wish to visit Boston it's a 1/2 - 1 hour drive. But there are also alternative modes of travel such as the Ferry from Salem to downtown Boston, the train from Salem, bus service from Marblehead or a short drive to the MBTA subway service.

The Harbor: The center of activity revolves around the beautiful Harbor. There are six very active Yacht Clubs and in the summer there are over 1,500 boats in the Harbor. There are sailboat races five days a week. Some of the best racing sailors in the world have grown up in Marblehead. During the summer, in July, there is a special racing event named Marblehead Race Week and sailors from all over the East Coast come to participate. it is often said, only partly in jest, that during Race Week one could walk across the Harbor from boat to boat. From your rental house you will be able to see some very spectacular sunrises as it comes up over Marblehead Neck directly opposite the house. It's a very enchanting place to visit and live.
