Casa Paraiso is a very beautiful home. Extensive use of glass walls gives the living rooom and dining room an open indoor outdoor feel without sacrificing privacy. Every bedroom and bath was large and luxurious. We chose this home for a family reunion and it comfortably slept 9. The living room has seating for 10. The beautiful large dining table is great for 8, and ok for 10. Beach club had a large, very clean and uncrowded, excellent beach with big towels, lounge chairs, and two pools, kayaks, pricy outdoor restaurant with a simple menu, and kid's activity program. Bring your snorkeling equipment because there is none for rent.
Raphael and Elena, the houseman and housekeeper were very accommodating and took very good care of us. They spoke very little english, but it was not a problem since they were very familiar with the house and well trained and seem to understand more english than they speak. Bring your CD's if you want music, because local radio reception is poor and limited. House has extensive stereo system and hi speed wireless internet throughout the home. On Ubaldo's recommendation, we paid extra to hire Octovio to be our chef for the week. He is absolutely fabulous!! You will eat as well as you would eat at the 4 Seasons or the best restaurants in PV. You set up the week's menu beforehand, but I recommend giving him some leeway in deciding what to make. He previously worked for a great french restaurant in PV. Fabulous meals included fish filets stuffed with lobster and covered in lobster sauce, lobster bisque, prime rib eye steak with red wine sauce, tempura shrimp, garlic broiled shrimp, freshly made spaghetti sauce, wonderful huevos rancheros, excellent pico de guayo, and club sandwhiches. On the other hand, he had no idea how to make oatmeal, or french toast, or monte christo sandwiches. So it is best to leave yourself in his hands and he will serve you consistently wonderful meals that are beautifully plated and presented. The staff provides table service for breakfast and dinner. Ubaldo was very helpful in translating our requests to Octovio since Octovio speaks almost no english. Also if you love gourmet coffee, I recommend bringing your own coffee or going to Puerto Vallarta (about 1 hour drive) and buying your ground coffee at Starbucks. We left the wine selection to Octovio saying that we wanted medium quality and he purchased some very nice Chilean and California wines for us. We can't wait to return to this fabulous home, and wonderful staff and chef.
