Further Details:
Distance from the beach: 7 km. We also have an excellent riding school near the village. To save on bike hire expense there are 2 adult bikes available in reasonable condition. Also, a BBQ is available on the patio. We will be very happy to shop for basics (tea, coffee, milk etc) if this is helpful. There will be a basket of free range eggs from our own hens to give a flavour of country living on guests’ arrival.
West Cork Beauty:
From April to October the hedgerows and fields 'dance' with a profusion of scarlet fuscias, violets, purple foxgloves and meadowsweet, along with an abundance of wild garlic, honeysuckle, ragged-robin, wood sorrel, primrose, harebell and any number and variety of common wayside flowers, including orchid, vetch and heather. The ubiquitous lily - montbretia - with its iridescent orangy-yellowy-red is a visual feast. For ramblers with a practiced eye and those awakening to the simple but exciting pleasures of country walking, West Cork has some of the most delightful nature trails and well prepared and sign-posted walks for the hungry seekers of natural beauty. Of Ireland's many visitors, very few have managed to leave without falling in love with her at first sight and this is particularly true of West Cork with its wild and rugged coastline. All this beauty exerts a magical charm that captivates and caresses with a very restful and restorative balm.
Golf:
There are many good golf courses within an easy distance of our cottage. These being Bantry, Schull, Skibbereen and Glengarriff.
