The region is rich in cultural and historic attractions anchored by two unparallelled Frank Lloyd Wright houses, Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob. The visitor center at Fort Necessity National Battlefield interprets French & Indian War history. Recreational opportunities abound at Ohiopyle State Park with spectacular hiking trails, white-water rafting, kayaking and canoeing. The Great Allegheny Passage, a bike trail linking Pittsburgh to Washington, DC, follows the Youghiogheny River through spectacular mountain scenery. PGA golf, Jellystone Park, the Woodland Zoo and other attractions will make the Cottages at Fayette Springs your favorite place for a family vacation or a couple's retreat.

Located east of Uniontown, PA, 1/2 mile south of historic US Route 40 not far from the Maryland and West Virginia borders. Rte 40, the National Pike, is part of the National Road Heritage Corridor and the road traveled by George Washington, whose army was defeated by the French and Indians at nearby Ft. Necessity, launching the French & Indian War. The region is transected by a system of designated Scenic Byways and pristine waterways such as the beautiful Youghiogheny River that rushes through nearby Ohiopyle State Park.
