The 'Gästehaus' is made up of 3 vacation apartments and 2 separate rooms and a charming, renovated arched cellar. 'Gretchen', the top apartment with charm, a large living-bedroom (3 beds), gallery (4 spaces to sleep), shower-bath, dining space and complete kitchen (dishwasher, refrigerator, stove, oven, freezer, coffee machine, etc.) Our 'Emma' is lovely furnished with wicker furniture and antique cabinets, the warm colors of the walls give off a sense of security. Kitchen (refrigerator with freezer, coffee machine, 4 plate stove, oven), large living room with dining space and sleeper sofa (2 people) bedroom (2 beds plus cot) and shower/bath. 'Margarete' is the small apartment for 'two', cot can be arranged additionally. In the romantic 'Grombierekella' (up to 25 people), you can enjoy your small family celebrations at any time without interruptions. The guest house will only be rented completely on weekends outside of the peak season.

Notes to the rental rates

• Vacation prices 2008: the prices given are for the apartments in the guest house for 2 people. The room 'Elfriede' and 'Marthas' can be additionally rented. Maximum booking of 20 people. Each extra person costs 49 EUR per week. Children up to 2 are free, up to 6 years 21 EUR. Weekend - short accommodations only possible outside of the peak season, prices upon request. Can also be rented along with the winter garden and the hay hostel (Heuherberge) for family vacations. The guest house is only rented completely on weekends outside of the peak season. The arched cellar for your small, private parties.
  
• A winter garden to celebrate festivals or for a social gathering. Enjoy the unique ambiance in the winter garden in the hay hostel (Heuherberge). Lemons, oranges, kiwis, grapes, figs and thousands of flowers all build a wonderful ambiance for your private festivals, weddings or birthday parties. There is enough space for more than 120 people to sleep at the Faust vacation farm. Company events and family vacations, class trips or graduation trips. Whether you are looking for tranquility or you would like to enjoy time with your friends - everything is possible. The winter garden and large outdoor facilities invite you to have a very personal and fun vacation.
  
• We like to have children and youth celebrate a special birthday party. We also offer self catering in the hay hostel and winter garden for class trips, kindergartens and youth programs. We would be delighted to send you more information about this. Examples of programs: nature experiences with all senses, petting zoo, farm olympics, games in nature and with natural materials, horseback riding and animal care and a lot more. Prices for rides upon request. If you would like to bring a pet along, dogs 5 EUR/day, cats: 3 EUR/day. Horses (pasture) 9 EUR/day. Open stall upon request.

The long summer in Weiden

Our village is located in the precious gemstone region of Idar-Oberstein. A stunning floodplain and forest are located directly on the farm. Enjoy the long summer in Weiden. You can find oranges, lemons, kiwis, grapes and figs in the winter gardens in 'Heuherberge' and 'Faustus'. In the pasture you can see the horses Sofia, Bella and Atti, the ponies Stoll and Maxi, the donkeys 'Emilio, 'Eco' and 'Esmeralda', the sheep Martha and Lina, the goats Susi and Willi. In the ponds or stream you can observe water animals, go swimming, take a boat out and enjoy the sun. Playing around in the hay and a covered wagon ride - what could be better for children? Bike, hike or go horseback riding on the intricate paths around the forested hill, past piles of slate and castles. Touch, taste and smell nature, a 'natural vacation' with friends. You can visit different mines, quarries & digging tunnels along the Edelsteinstraße, for example the copper mine in Fischbach & Steinkaulenberg (agate) in Idar-Oberstein. The German museum for precious gemstones is located in Idar-Oberstein & has minerals from all over the world & also 'Felsenkirche' - a unique church built into a rock wall. The pond line & the museum of local history show you the beginnings of the gemstone industry. The historical city center of Herrstein, the Wildenburg with a game reserve & the gem garden in Kempfeld can be reached in just minutes. Jewelry designers & gemstone grinding shops have a large selection of modern jewelry that will allure any woman. You can experience a special day in the shale caverns in Herrenberg (fossils), Altburg, Schmidburg by Bundenbach & the Hahnenbach Valley. Experience the process of turning a raw gemstone into finished jewelry, or do some grinding and be a goldsmith yourself. Dive into the world of gem stones, visit 'Steinkaulenberg' and the 'German Gemstone Museum', the 'Museum of Local History' and 'Felsenkirchen'. Connect culture and recreational fun, the public swimming pools in Rhaunen, Morbach, the sub-tropic water park 'Pyramide' in Oberhambach and theindoor pool in Idar Oberstein make your vacation plan exciting. The barefoot path in Sobernheim and the open-air museum are worth a day trip.

Skiing Information:

If you are looking for an accommodation for your family celebration during Christmas, you can use the guest house and Karins house to enjoy your Christmas festivities together with your grandparents and siblings. A decorated tree will be waiting for you or would you like to decorate it yourself? Fun in the snow with temperatures under 0C, the new snow machines make this possible. On Erbeskopf by Deuselbach (20 km, two 800m descents, practice slope, cable lift, flood lit, luge track, ski rental / school, slope lodges). As soon as there is snow in Hunsrück, you can discover numerous slopes in the fairytale like high forest or you can put your alpine skills to the test on Idarkopf and Erbeskopf. If you do not like to ski, hikes will leave you with everlasting impressions that you will take back home.

Golf Information:

The golf club 'Edelstein Hunsrück' in Kirschweilier (8 km) has a 9 hole golf course and club house and invites you to partake in numerous activities. Here beginners can practice at the 3 hole course. A second golf course (9 holes) is located by the Hahn airfield.
