Ten miles east of downtown Asheville, NC, Asheville Lookout, a 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath Air-conditioned Chalet on 15 wooded acres has an excellent view of Watch Knob Mountain and the Bee Tree Valley below. The Great Room features a stone fireplace, Direct TV, DVD, VCR and Stereo. The dining area and kitchen with seating for eight, downdraft glass cook top, microwave, wall oven, refrigerator and dishwasher makes entertaining easy. Enjoy the view through the all-glass South wall, or walk out to the 16 x 50 foot deck with glider, chairs, picnic table and gas grill. Pamper yourself in the 4 person Hot Tub on the sun porch off the ground level King Master Suite. The West Queen bedroom has a private deck for sunbathing or stargazing. The East Queen bedroom features a spiral staircase to an Upper Loft with a single bed and Full size Futon. The Lower Loft with Full size Futon also has a computer with high speed wireless Internet. Restaurants/Groceries 5 miles.

  • Fall and Winter Rates are for up to 8 Persons and two pets. $125.00 Pet Fee per Rental Period.
  • Visa and MasterCard Online payments accepted. A $250 refundable Booking and Security Deposit will be required to make a reservation. Rental must be paid in full 30 days prior to arrival. Each additional guest over eight (8) persons, excluding infants to 18 months, will be charged $30 per night or $150 per guest per week. Discounts for two week rentals. Monthly rate includes all fees and taxes.
  • 3 Night Weekend Rentals for 8 guests $858.31inclusive of taxes and cleaning fees. $250.00 Deposit required.

On the Second Floor, The Loft, open to the Great Room below, will sleep 2 guests on the Full-size futon. The West Bedroom features a Queen size Bed and Baby Crib (sleeps 2 adults and 1 infant), single Closet, single dresser, ceiling fan, Direct TV and private deck with chaise lounges. The East Bedroom (sleeps 2+2) has a Queen size bed, two double closets, two dressers, ceiling fan and a spiral staircase leading to the open Upper Loft which has a single bed and Full-size futon. Each bedroom is decorated with Waverly brand drapes and comforters, 400+ count sheets, hypoallergenic pillows, summer weight blankets and down quilts. All linens provided.

Answers to Frequent Questions: Asheville Lookout is located on the side of Rock Knob Mountain, on 15 acres of wooded family-owned property with a private driveway. The nearest house is at the base of the drive, approximately 250 yards away and out of sight. The house is secluded and overlooks a horse farm and church in the valley below. The gravel driveway is kept in good repair, and is easily navigated by a regular car. Parking space for multiple vehicles. The property has a hiking trail for exercising your pet; climb to the top of the mountain where you can enjoy a spectacular view of the Bee Tree Valley and the surrounding Brushy Mountains.

Shopping and Restaurants: The nearest grocery store is Ingles Market on Route 70, 4 miles from the chalet in downtown Swannanoa. They have a full service pharmacy, movie rentals, extended shopping hours, self-checkout, and accept major credit cards. The Ingles Gas station and Bank of America with driveup ATM is in the same plaza. Black Mountain has several wonderful restaurants; Black Mountain Bistro, Veranda Cafe and Las Quezelas (authentic Mexican). For those who like atmosphere with their coffee, visit the Dripolator Coffeehouse on State Street.
