Nestled high in the hills of Joshua Tree, California, HighDesert Homestead is a private retreat situated on 2.5 pristine acres of granite boulders, cacti, and Joshua Trees. Originally built as a homesteader’s cabin in 1957, the house’s recent renovation offers a modern yet rustic minimalism that is designed to let you experience the serenity and natural beauty of the high desert. The rugged northern boundary of Joshua Tree National Park fills the views and its west entrance is a short two miles away. Local wildlife, including coyotes, jackrabbits, and quail, among others, are regular visitors to the property, and nighttime brings an incredible and unencumbered display of stars. Renovated using environmentally friendly methods and materials and also filled with custom hand made furniture by the owner, HighDesert Homestead is the perfect place to indulge yourself amidst a modern yet rustic environment. HighDesert Homestead is the ideal retreat for the mind, body, and soul.

My friend and I stayed at the Highdesert Homestead while we attended a yoga retreat in Joshua Tree. When we arrived we absolutely loved the house. It has wonderful views and the furnishings are gorgeous. Another thing about the stay we loved is eco friendly soaps and organic coffee were provided. The entire house was meticulously clean...everything seemed brand new. The beds were comfortable and the bedding was super soft! We loved to sit on the porch and watch the quail run by. The owner of the property was very professional and quick to respond to any questions we had. I highly recommend anyone who is visitng Joshua Tree to stay at this beautiful rustic/modern retreat ...you will love it!
