On beautiful Smith Mountain Lake, Witcher Way Lakehouse is situated on the quiet, Cedar Key Cove of Witcher Creek just a short float away from the excitement and activity of the main lake. Relax and enjoy the views and tranquility of this Wildlife Preserve and protected State Forest area from the porch, the deck, or many of the windows of the new, open three-bedroom lake house. This light, airy and comfortable house sleeps up to six with two full baths, a lovely kitchen and great-room area over a basement level that sports a dart board, ping pong and air hockey table, and leads out to a full patio that stretches the length of the house and overlooks the walkway to the boathouse and water.

A large deck overlooks the lake and is accessed by patio doors from the great room and master bedroom. This home is strictly limited to the number of occupants indicated. Occupancy limitations are determined by Bedford County and are based on the size of the homes septic system. For the purpose of this regulation, anyone over the age of two years is considered an occupant.

The unfinished basement offers an ideal space for recreational activity and includes air hockey table, ping pong table, and dart board and leads out to a shaded patio that runs the length of the house where lounge chairs overlook the weaving path down to the boathouse and dock. The boathouse and dock offer covered dining and lounge area with a floating dock for sun and swimming. Boating speeds are restricted in this no-wake area allowing for safe swimming and canoeing.

Wonderful vacation site

We spent a quiet fall long-weekend as a couple, and thoroughly enjoyed the warm and wonderfully decorated , comfortable , clean, and well supplied house. The incredible views across the cove, the leaves changing color, the deer in the front yard greeting us , all made for a restful and pleasurable time. The available boathouse and water sports suggest this site would be wonderful for a summer vacation. Recommend this site for those active lifestyles who enjoy the water, mountains and nature.

Peaceful seclusion!

Witcher Way was a wonderful, peaceful lake house located in a wildlife refuge. The home is a recent construction and lacks the musty, old smell that is characteristic of many rental homes. The home is very clean and modernized.

Positives:
Very clean and modern (new appliances and furniture)
Very quiet and private
Large family room w/ big TV (great for playing Wii), place for everyone to site
Dock is located in a no wake zone so canoeing, fishing and swimming is very safe and there are no noisy, speeding boats
Air hockey, ping pong and darts in basement, very fun!
Great deck for outdoor eating and star gazing
Beautiful view of the lake and surrounding woods. We had deers visit everyday!

Negatives (very few):
Twin beds in one bedroom are a little hard (but not a big deal for most people, especially kids)
Walk from lake house to dock is a hike! It is very steep! May be an issue for older people or people with physical disabilities. It wasn't a problem for my family though...
No Chef's knife in the kitchen! If you cook a lot bring you're Chef's knife or you'll be stuck cutting foods with a steak knife!
No pets

I would highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to get away for it all and have a relaxing time in a peaceful, secluded setting.

The house was very new, beautiful and yet quite comfortable. The owners paid great attention to detail in furnishing, and providing a well equipped kitchen. The boathouse/dock were a great place to swim/canoe, and fish. The only negative would be getting from the house to the water and back, as it's extremely steep, Anyone not in good shape may struggle with the incline. Our only contact with neighbors were the deer who walked right up to the front door. The owner was very quick to respond to my e-mails, and thorough with planning/instructions. Reasonably priced rental.
