Elk Rapids holiday condo

The experience with the condo was not a pleasant one. Things that we were told were not true; in fact they were opposite. We were told that it was on a quiet road; not true The road was extremely busy. We were also told that clean linens were provided; not true. All the bedding was stained. The bathrooms had to be re-cleaned by us when we arrived there. It smelled like bleach in the bathrooms, but they were not clean. You could not use any of the cooking wear. The teflon was peeling off the pots and pans. The utensils were sticky with brown smelly stuff. The outside grill was full of rust. It could not be used. Also there was at least an inch of dust on all the lamps, lights and shades. The blinds on the door wall were missing. There were only about 8 blinds. Some of the windows were missing screens. The rental website said there was cable television and a dvd player. There were only 4 or 5 cable stations and the dvd player would not hook up to the televisions. The carpet was full of stains. We had arrived on Saturday, July 4th and left on Monday morning on July 6th at 10:00 a.m. to go to a hotel. We had notified the owner about all of the problems and all she wanted to do was pay for 2 nights at a hotel of her choice. That was not happening. She did not offer us any money back and we had left 5 days early from our vacation due to the conditions of the condo. We would never recommend renting from this person to anyone.
