The Great Room:

Everyone on Cairn Hill is drawn to the 700 square foot sunken Great Room. Wood graces the entire house but nowhere is its presence and spirit felt more strongly then here in this gathering room with its soaring vaulted ceiling where wood wrapped windows abound. Two French doors and an added single leading to the hot tub truly bring the outdoors – indoors. Two couches and a love seat surround the 55' satellite HDTV with all components and TIVO. 2 recliners snuggle up to the gas stove set in the corner for excellent warming, reading and spectacular mountain viewing. This great room also sets the stage for hilarity with the included karaoke machine. Now is the chance to see how good you really are!
(French doors are sealed in the winter, ecologically saving fuel.)
Outdoors:
The house on Cairn Hill is surrounded by a 3,000 sq. foot flagstone patio. Included are a gas barbecue grill, table, seating for 20+, fire ring, swings for adults and children, lounge chairs for catching those year round rays and umbrella for escaping them. 30+ species of birds have been seen on the property. There is a 'bluebird trail' with 6 houses to encourage them to stay. In summer, there are more hummingbirds then you have probably seen in one place. Wear a red shirt and stand out on the patio – they will find you. There are maintained flower gardens and critters who visit including fox, javelina and elk. The elk have been known to eat of the flowers and from the bird feeders. We appreciate your help in avoiding this. If you show up – they will leave. Cairn Hill has its own sledding hill with guaranteed belly laughs!
Kitchen and Dining:
There are 2 Dining areas, one on the upper level seating 4-6 and the other stepped down on the side of the great room seating up to 12. (More tables are available for larger parties.) There is also a bar just off the kitchen with 3 stools.
The Kitchen has 2 refrigerators, 2 ovens, ice maker, trash compactor, dishwasher, microwave and blender. Sorry no granite countertops, we don't consider them necessary for the perfect mountain vacation!
A large Pantry with lots of storage space and a second refrigerator is right off the kitchen.
