This Beautifully Restored Home located In The Heart Of The Lost Bayou Historic District Is Available For Your Vacation, Weekend Getaway or Special Occasion Enjoyment! Built in 1886 By Mr. Thomas Hawley, This Historic 1900 Storm Survivor Home Is Located Just Six Short Blocks Behind The Historic Galvez Hotel On The Seawall And Seven Blocks To The Strand. This is not a bunkhouse. The home was furnished to provide our guests with the experience of a family in A Bygone Era. Please scroll down to see the tastefully decorated rooms. Although the house has been updated with modern amenities, all guests have commented on the tranquil atmosphere that exists when they walk thru the door.

We stayed here over Easter 2009. The house has been fully restored after IKE and has all the facilities needed for a great holiday. Easy walk to the beach and plenty of shops within an easy drive. Only about an hour to NASA.
The front porch gets the evening sun and is ideal for sipping evening drinks, The house is larger than its photos show. Would stay there again if in the vicinity
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Romantic Getaway

My family gathered at this beautiful house in Galveston's historic district over the Christmas season in 2008. It was very comfortable for us and those who visited while we were there. We entertained multiple groups of family and friends from GA, WA, NY and TX while there and all were impressed.

It was less than 10 minutes to walk to the seawall and beach and excellent stores were within 15 minutes drive.

We heartily recommend this house and would definitely consider it again on a visit to this area. The owner was most helpful in providing information in advance of our visit, especially considering the impacts of hurricane Ike. The home was immaculately restored following the hurricane, because we could not detect any hint of impact while we were there.
