Further details for this holiday apartment rental in Quebec City, Canada

Seasonal Attractions:: This apartment is located in one of Quebec’s prime location, surrounded by the Notre-Dame Basilica-Cathedral of Québec, famous Museums, fine dinning, fabulous antiquing, shopping, cultural events, sidewalk Cafés and street entertainers and painters . Throughout the summer the city overflows with window boxes and hanging flower baskets and fun activities and festivals such as Festivale de la Nouvelle France and the Festivale d’ete. Over 500 shows and street entertainment are held within feet of this superb apartment. For winter and ski get-away, this condominium home is an ideal balance between close-by world class ski destinations like Mount St. Anne and Stoneham and great in-town night life ...for a truly French/European Christmas season, reserve this special home in December and have a magical holiday. Or join in Québec's famous Winter Carnival festivities (February); the biggest winter carnival in the world. Most events are right in the neighbourhood.

Christmas in Quebec City: The Québec City area is the ideal place to spend the holidays. After all, it's got everything: abundant snow, carolers, sleigh rides, Christmas trees, Nativity scenes, and Midnight mass. Just like in our childhood storybooks, when our parents read to us in front of a warm fire. Throughout the city, trees, homes, storefronts, and office buildings are decorated and lit for the Christmas season. Smiles are bigger, arms open wider, and the snow gives everyone the luxury of a beautiful white carpet on Christmas Eve. But there’s more to enjoy in Québec City at this time of the year. With its enchanting boutiques (and in particular its 1,000 boutiques in five large shopping centers), its special events, and the Christmas exhibitions set up by many museums, kids as well as adults will be delighted. Some of the more notable activities throughout the month long celebration include a fashion show, carriage rides, an elf parade and swarms of carolers.

Winter Carnival: January 29 2010 - February 14 2010 For over 50 years, the biggest winter carnival in the world has been celebrating the joys and magic of winter. Experience the thrills and emotions with your family by taking part in a variety of winter activities: snow rafting, horse-drawn sleigh rides, dogsledding rides, children's village and much more. Come to the splendid palace in the heart of Old Québec and say 'bonjour' to the king of the festival, Bonhomme Carnaval. Let yourself be carried away by the whirlwind of renowned events, such as the canoe race on the icy St. Lawrence River, the International Snow Sculpture Competition, and the magical night parades.

Ski: Mont-Sainte-Anne : located only 30 minutes away from beautiful Quebec City, who has just celebrated its 400th anniversary, and the only conclusion one may come to is that Mont-Sainte-Anne is the ultimate ski destination in North America. It provides incredible snow conditions and proudly displays an impressive trail network across three sides of the mountain. Stoneham: located only 20 minutes away from Quebec City, Stoneham is without a doubt THE ski destination of your winter . Those on the lookout for action will have only one place to go: Stoneham Mountain Resort! Great snow conditions, a trail network that spreads over 4 mountains.

An Unpleasant Experience

Review Submitted: August 13, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
My husband and I and young child spent two weeks in Quebec in June 09. We rented a fantastic apt in Montreal and the Eastern townships. The big let down however was this apt in Quebec City (it was also the most expensive). The apt has lots of small rooms and has been cheaply done up and cheaply furnished. We were only two adults and a child and we felt cramped. The beds are especially uncomfortable. What made it additionally unpleasant was the owners. They refused to provide an additional lamp even though the lighting was too poor to read by. There is no phone in the apt so if you are from overseas you either have to incur roaming charges on your mobile or find a phone booth. The owners don't live in Quebec City and don't seem to know the City - they couldn't even tell us if there was a market. They seemed not to care even when problems arose (blocked sink and toilet) that caused us inconvenience. The location is good but there are other better apts in equally good locations.
Owner's Response: These were our first customers in this apartment and we had inspect the apartment a week prior to their arrival and had used all the appliances to clean and wash the new dishes and cook ware in the kitchen with no difficulty. When they complained of the block sink our local staff arrived with in a couple of hours and found the sink blocked with vegetable matter including chunks of potato. When they said the second day the toilet in the small bathroom was blocked we offered to terminate her contract and refund the unused portion and they refused. We said a plumber was going to come and they said they didn’t wish to be disturbed. The plumber came a few hours after their departure and said the toilet was blocked with something inappropriate possibly a diaper. The apartment has been in almost continuous use since their departure and no one else has had any difficulty with the plumbing clogging. The beds they complained of had brand new Sealy Posterpedic mattresses which had never been used prior to their arrival. This a historic building within the walled city and room size within a 180 year building is not the same as modern construction. We had in fact given them advice on where there were supermarkets and smaller shops prior to there arrival. The fact that there is no telephone in the apartment is clear in the apartment listing something we are going to change. The pricing on the apartment is comparable to others in the old city. We feel this review is primarily motivated by the fact that having already given them over a 30% discount on the initial booking and allowing them to keep their booking after they reduced it from our normal minimum of 5 days to 4 we refused to give them an additional 25% refund.

Family Vacation in Quebec city

Quebecforeever Oakville,Ontario,Canada
Review Submitted: July 7, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
I had a great time in Quebec city. My wife and I are from Quebec city and we wanted to give our children the opportunity to discover our home town. The kids are 15 and 14 years old. Our children were able to discover the old town with very little supervision. The location is fantastic. You don't need a car to explore Quebec city but if you have one you can get a 3 or 5 day parking pass just in front of the apartment (City Hall undergroud parking). All the major attractions of Quebec city are within a 1 to 20 minutes walking distance including my favorite restaurant le Grafitti on rue Cartier. That street is worth the walk and is frequented by many locals. On rue Cartier you will also find les Halles du Quartier were you buy groceries (fish, meat, cheese...). Again fantastic location in the middle of the action but still very quiet and peaceful.

Thank you
