More beautiful and relaxing than staying at a motel. This is a lower level 600 sq ft efficiency in the lower walkout level of a private home overlooking a tidal marsh. There is a private entrance and patio with beautiful peaceful water and marsh views. This bright and tasteful, nautically decorated apartment has a king size bed, full bath with shower. Bring your binoculars to view the abundant marsh wildlife, and bring your bikes for riding and picnicking along the Cape Cod canal. This property is located within an easy walk (1/5 of a mile) to a bay-side ocean beach, the famous boardwalk, and historic downtown Sandwich. Sandwich has plenty of shopping, antique shops, museums, and many local restaurants (several within walking distance).

Sandwich is the oldest town on Cape Cod. It is located on both sides of the Cape Cod Canal with the majority of its land mass on the southerly side. Sandwich beaches stretch for miles along Cape Cod Bay and provide a wonderful view on a clear day of the many vessels that pass through and near the Cape Cod Canal. Commercial fishermen and lobster men can be seen daily from the docks at the Sandwich Marina, the only harbor along the canal. Historic Sandwich Village which is a renowned tourist destination provides many glimpses into New England's rich colonial history. Visit the Hoxie House (the oldest house on Cape Cod), the Dexter Grist Mill, Heritage Plantation, the Thornton Burgess Museum, the Sandwich Glass Museum, and more. A jewel of this area is a seven mile barrier beach, Sandy Neck. If you are lucky enough to have a four wheel drive (with permit) you can drive out and enjoy the beautiful sand dunes.

My Husband and I had such a nice time at our stay at the studio rental on the Salt Marsh in Sandwich. This location inspired us to watch the incoming and out going tides at this Salt Marsh view; especially in the mornings. In addition the studio itself is nicely prepared for renters, every need was cared for. The family of Dan, Nancy and Blacky are so Welcoming and we consider it the sincere pleasure to know them as friends. Perfect Cape Cod getaway

My husband and I just spent four days staying at this lovely, clean and cozy studio. It has it's own private entry and patio area with gorgeous views of the rock flower garden, trees, bushes and marsh beyond. Each morning we sat outside with our coffee and marveled at the peacefulness of the location and beauty. There are herons to watch at the marsh, and birds of all kinds come to the two birdbaths right outside the room and they put on a show for you. If you like dogs the owners have a black Lab name Blackie who is so sweet and smart, and she'll come for loves if you invite her. The room is large and has everything you would need. We felt right at home. It is in a quiet neighborhood yet within easy walking distance to a pretty beach, the quaint town of Sandwich, Seafood Sam's restaurant (yummy), the Cape Cod Canal and so much more. The owners, Dan and Nancy, go out of their way to make your stay great. We just thoroughly enjoyed our stay from the moment we arrived until we reluctantly had to leave. Whenever we go back to the Cape this is where we'll stay. If you are a couple looking for a special, quiet, "de-stressing" getaway, this is a place for you. You will love it.

perfect anniversary getaway

Dan, Nancy, and Blackie were the most wonderful hosts! They made us feel so welcome and comfortable. They went out of their way to make sure our 32nd wedding anniversary was a memorable one. From the bottle of wine, card, and snacks on the dining table when we arrived, to the informative suggestions on where to go and what to do, all we had to do was say the word and they were ready to do their best to create the perfect trip. The room was immaculate and chock full of anything we could ever want (beach towels, coolers, beach chairs, kitchen utensils, etc). It was furnished and decorated in such a way that it was a pleasure to be in. The patio outside made a nice spot to relax with a book and play with blackie. The location of the house is in a very quiet neighborhood and not far from the boardwalk and the town. Kayaking through the estuaries around the boardwalk was a new experience for us, and one we would like to repeat someday. Choosing to stay here, as opposed to a hotel, was definitely the right choice. I would recommend staying here to anyone who wants to be guaranteed an enjoyable vacation.

VERY relaxing experience!

When we arrived, Dan, Nancy & Blacky (dog) welcomed us.
Everything was perfect; The place had a lot a space, we had a huge bed (King), a little diner table for two with a romantic view, a comfortable recliner big enough to hold 2 lovers who likes to cuddle and pretty bathroom. The place was big enough for both of us and everything was very clean. The patio was big and we had a awesome view on the marsh + we had access to a electric bbq to cook our diner. The place is less then 10 minutes away from a clean beach and from a charming town. Our host were also very kind people and we felt at home right away. When even we will decide to go back there, without hesitation we would come back there.

Can't Wait to Come Back!

Our stay was truly perfect. Nancy and Dan have done everything to make this a "home away from home" The best was reading in the adirondack chair overlooking the beautiful marsh. After enjoying a great day at one of the local beaches, we couldn't wait to be greeted by Blackie. What a friendly dog! The area also has fantastic restaurants and lots of local history to check out. We wished we could have extended our week. We are looking forward to a fall weekend and a Summer 2010 vacation at our new favorite spot in the Cape! We highly recommend this clean and relaxing studio apartment for your next vacation.
