Just spend a week with the family (including 3 small children) in the appartment. Great clean and spacious place. Well situated in the centre of Paris, close to metro and some of the major attractions. Very quiet at night. Very welcome reception by the owner, who is more then happy to help out.

A wonderful base to explore Paris

This apartment is a genuine find. In a fantastic location close to the Arc de Triomphe and overlooking Place des Ternes, it is within walking distance of Porte Maillott where the Beauvais airport bus gets in (for those travelling to paris via Ryanair).

The apartment is very spacious and ideal for families with young children, and has everything you could possibly want from a holiday apartment, and more. Furtniture and furnishings are of a very high quality, all linen is provided and spotlessly clean. The kitchen is well equipped to cook even family meals.

The immediate neighbourhood has an impressive selection of fresh food stores and the ubiquitous Boulangerie. Their are several excellent restaurants nearby as well.

Finally the owner, Gilles, is absolutely charming, welcoming and exceptionally helpful. Highly recommended and a terrific value for money in central paris

Endroit confortable et bien situé

Nous avons séjourné à cette adresse du 13 au 26 août 2009. L'appt. était très propre et bien situé, à quelques pas de l'Arc de Triomphe et accès au métro, à peine 1 minute de marche (Métro Ternes). L'air climatisé (2 mobiles) ont également été fortement appréciés durant ce temps où il a fait très chaud; l'appt. est au 6e étage. Nous avons été accueilli comme prévu par Gilles et il été disponible lorsque nous avons dû communiquer avec lui. L'appt. est bien aménagé et est dans un édifice bien tranquille. On peut même y voir le haut de la Tour Eiffel et l'Arc de Triomphe. Il y a suffisemment de linge de lit et de serviettes, mais les canadiens, apportez vos débarbouillettes. La laveuse-sécheuse, quoique plutôt lente, est également fort utile et permet d'alléger les valises. Quelques produits de base (nettoyant, lavage, hygiénique) sont déjà disponible à l'arrivée, ce qui est apprécié. Il y a également le marché Poncelet à quelques pas de l'appt. qui offre des fruits et des légumes frais à tous les jours, en plus d'un marché de bonnes viandes cuites à tous les jours, sans compter les nombreuses boulangeries et pâtisseries tout près également qui offrent des produits frais. Préférable d'aller au marché vers 17h00 où on peut se procurer les bons fruits frais à meilleurs marchés que le matin; les propriétaires veulent écouler leurs marchandises. Deux super marchés sont également près, dont un l'autre bord de la rue et l'autre où est situé le marché Poncelet. Il y en a un autre à deux pâtés de rue.
Owner's Response: a good tip that should be translated for those who don't speak french:
go to market on rue Bayen around 5pm: fresh fruits will be cheaper than in the morning.

Fantastic Place away from tourists!

My parents, my wife, daughter (~2yrs old), and I stayed here end of June 2009.

First, the building was very secure and my parents (50+) felt very safe to roam the neighborhood on their own.


Apartmenta

Our first thoughts were (Wow this place is spacious, clean, quiet, and bright!). All the appliances were great (stove, fridge, coffee maker, microwave, washer/drier), plus the kitchen is stocked with silverware, wine glasses, and basic items needed for cooking. For 5 people there was plenty of space, especially for my daughter to run around.

There were clean towels and bedsheets, as well as extra sets in storage to use. It was a huge relief since this was our first time ever renting a vacation home. It was nice to have the large windows to look out onto the street and to bring in fresh air.

The free internet (wi-fi available) was fast and easy to setup.

Location
------------
There were a bunch of markets and stores right around the neighborhood including a few boulangerie's and restaurants. It's a residential neighborhood, so you feel as if you are living there instead of vacationing among other tourists (which was great!).

Literally just down the block from the metro, and a few bus stops. Maybe a 5-8 minute walk to the Arc De Triomphe on the Champs Elysees.


Side Note
---------------
The owner was very friendly and helpful by giving us tips on some of the sites we wanted to see. For the American's out there, the owner speaks English extremely well, better then some of my colleagues! =)


We would definitely come back to this apartment and look forward to visiting again in the future!
