Central to Bend, Sisters, Redmond, this is the perfect starting place for your central Oregon adventure. Families with Kids will love the amount of space, Couples traveling together will enjoy the privacy of 2 MBRs, and golfers, fishermen, boaters: there is a TON of room in the Barn to stash your gear & cars! The Bend, Sisters, Redmond area is full of recreational opportunities! Winter sports like snowboarding or skiing are available at Mt. Bachelor or Hoodoo. There are tons of rivers in the area; whitewater rafting is guide-led on the McKenzie river. Go15-30 minutes in most directions and find a wonderful golf course! There are many bicycle trails along the rivers and high country backpacking throughout the Three Sisters Wilderness Area. Our warm summers are filled with festivals, shows and fairs; a few to mention would be the Sisters Rodeo, Sisters Quilt Fair, Deschutes County Fair, the Crooked River Round Up Rodeo in Prineville and the 4th of July Parade in downtown Bend. Geology buffs will love exploring lava flows and volcanic areas like Lava Butte, East and Paulina Lakes (rent a boat!) and the Lava River Cave. Young and old alike would enjoy a trip to the High Country Desert Museum (about 20 min south). If you like baseball, catch the Bend Elks at their downtown park, so fun!

  • Downstairs bathroom is a full bath with a shower; it shares the space with the laundry/mud room. This bathroom is furnished with all brand new towels and area carpets. There is a wall mounted space heater to take the chill off in the morning. There is a door to the outside from this room, so it's handy to go through the mud room if you are all muddy! Upstairs bathroom is named the 'Princess Bathroom'. Newly painted, new wall sconces on a dimmer switch to save electricity. Beautiful marble flooring that is repeated on the countertops. The decorator window shade is a top down/bottom up, and the material coordinates with the shower curtain. We have furnished all brand new towels and area carpets for this room, too! There is a built in wall heater to take the chill off in the mornings. With two separate bathrooms, your bedroom privacy will never be disturbed.

Notes: The 'garage' is really a barn. It will accommodate at least four vehicles, or a boat with a trailer or an RV! We have created a play area inside the barn with a ping pong table, foosball table, a table for playing board games or cards, and a mini refrigerator. We also have a Big-Game freezer, in case you go hunting and come back with a trophy! Outdoors on the concrete is the basketball hoop. There is also a croquet set you can put on the front lawn area. The mud room/laundry has a large storage closet where you will find the iron and ironing board, the broom, extra bath towels, beach towels, take along cooler. The full-sized new washer/dryer are there, complete with laundry soap and dryer sheets. Check this out!: This summer we expect to have some home-grown fresh vegetables (and flowers) growing out in the garden, so help yourself!

Things to do: Summertime Fun in and around Bend!: Fall in the high desert is all about the outdoors during the day and cozy evenings at home by the fire. The Downtown Bend's Farmer's Market goes every Wednesday through Oct 14 in Mirror Pond Park. The Old Mill District is where you will find the Les Schwab Amphiteater which sponsors free concerts in June, July and August; along with paid concerts. Check Bend Concerts for the entertainment schedule. The Old Mill District is a nice area for shopping, dining, and movies, too! Interested in cycling? Bend is this years site of the National Cyclocross Championships; scheduled for Dec 10-23th. Of course, there are many areas in and around Bend to go cycling.

Things to do: Like to Play Golf?: Central Oregon is a golfer's paradise! Some have called the region the 'Palm Springs of the North'. In the fall, golfing is unhurried and much less crowded. You can go 15-30 minutes north or south of our house and find several wonderful and challenging golf courses. This year, Jeld-Wen is holding the Jeld-Wen Tradition at Crosswater Club at Sunriver Resort. The dates are August 17-23. This is a nationally televised Pro-Am Champions Tour Golf Tournament and draws many Pro Golfers. There are several local tournaments, too. If you are interested, email us and we can forward you the information.

Fishing + Hiking: Central Oregon is known as an 'Angler's Paradise'! There are so many places to experience fishing! We can email you info, relevant websites, etc. Honestly, a wonderful getaway for the fisherman! Hiking is Central Oregon's middle name in the summer time! There are so many unspoiled and uncrowded spots, really close to our home. Marvel at the beauty of Smith Rock, check out the back country of the Three Sister's Wilderness area...tons of places to go!

Great house!! Perfect for families...kids loved being able to explore and we loved not worrying about cars, or strangers. Conveniently located for trips to Bend or Sisters. Such a peaceful place to unwind after our days of baseball. Thanks so much for sharing your home!
