Historical Details of La Fontaine de Charambaud:
Originally, la Fontaine de Charambaud was a 'ferme fortifiee', that is to say a fortified farmhouse with its own source and bread oven, its 'pigeonnier' (pigeon house) and stables. Today the courtyard is still partly roofed over and therefore shady. The merry sound of the splashing fountain and the wealth of roses, climbing plants and flowerpots make it an idyllic spot where you can drink your coffee, play table tennis, or, in the evening (when the courtyard is pleasantly lighted) organise a barbecue. By the way: Each apartment and each terrace has been provided with outdoor lanterns. Even the swimming pool has a floodlight for romantic swimming under the stars of the summer nights.
Special Wine Arrangement:
'la Fontaine de Charambaud' nestles amidst lush vineyards, verging on the pine forests and steep rock towers of the 'Dentelles de Montmirail', and close to well known 'Cote de Rhone Villages' such as Gigondas, Vacqueras, Beaumes de Venise etc. Other famous wine regions (like Tavel, Lirac, Chateauneuf du Pape, Cassis) are nearby. As we have lived and worked in this region for many years, we know most of the Caves Cooperatives, Chateaux and Wine Domaines, and will be happy to advise you. In September and October 2004 we offer a special wine arrangement, consisting of a surprise parcel of pleasant wines and an informative booklet.
