Midtown Manhattan holiday apartment

Location is great. Price was great. Mattress was great. Apt was very clean: great. Futon comfortable: great. Floor mirror was great. TV was great and having WiFi was great. Property Manager met us in a timely fashion when we arrived. It was great that the owner was very friendly and answered all my questions and returned my phone calls quickly.

Not so great to not even have a bar of soap or kleenex. Not so great to not have amenities as promised: no hair dryer, etc. Not so great that the toilet stopped up after each number 2. Not so great that hot and cold water fawcets were reversed in bathroom. Not so great that front door lock was loose; not very secure. Not so great that window air conditioner was loud and barely working. Can't imagine would work well in mid or late summer. Not so great that I asked about elevator and was told apts were only on 1st and 2nd floors. I felt that was OK with my lung problems and carrying up heavy suitcases but our apt ended up on thrid floor with narrow stairs. He offered to switch us but said this apt. was larger than the others and we'd be more confortable. By then we were settled. Not so good that we paid deposit thru Pay Pal and then he said we could either pay the balance thru Pay Pal but that we owed a surcharge or we could pay in cash when we arrived. Not so great that we were asked to sign a piece of paper on either the second or third day that had numerous items on it such as damage to the property. I crossed out most of the items because if you don't have a walk through as soon as you arrive then they could say that any defect in the property was your fault. The few kitchen utensils were barely adquate, barely.

Overall the apartment was adequate and in a great location but it's not for everyone. Our apartment didn't look like the picture. In our apt the kitchen was a separate room. Yes it was remodeled but very old.

I would recommend this property to only the people I know who are not very particular and are looking for value.
