This 1930s classic style home sits on a small one block street that starts at St. Francis Circle and ends at the private wooded grove of Chateu Ardenwood. The living room has a 15ft. ceiling with three tiers of architectural crown moulding. In the morning, if you draw the heavy silk drapes, the room is bathed in light from the 10ft by 8ft arched window. It has a working fireplace and oak wood floors covered with a handwoven bokara rug. The sofa and chairs are big and comfy with down stuffed cushions. The large armoire holds the big screen TV, DVD/VCR & CD player. The dining room has an old world charm and lends itself to both formal and informal dinners. The kitchen is updated and comes fully equipped. Off the kitchen is a breakfast room with french doors that open to a central patio. The master bedroom has queen sized bed with wall sconces on both sides for reading. There's a large walk through closet that connects to a full bathroom with glass shower stall & jacuzzi tub.

S. F. Historian Richard Brandi describes West Portal as a village-within-a-city. West Portal Ave. is filled with cafes, boutiques, an independent music store, a movie theater, book stores, specialized clothing stores, antique & interior décor shops, spas and salons for men, woman & pets. Our home is located just off St. Francis Circle, best known as the entrance to St. Francis Wood. It's also where four major Avenues converge, which means you can catch a streetcar or bus to take you anywhere you need to go. Go west down Sloat Blvd for 1 mile you'll be at the San Francisco Zoo and the Pacific Coast Hwy. If you take the train south 3 stops (about 10 minutes) you'll be at Stonestown Shopping Mall and UCSF. The train going north takes you to the heart of downtown in about 20 minutes. If you feel like a walk you go east into the Wood. Two blocks away is Stern Grove which hosts free outdoor concerts on Sundays from June 21 - August 23. Roberta Flack will open this season.
