Fantastic little hotel near Dominical

My husband and I found a fantastic little hotel between Dominical and Uvita, Costa Rica, called Shelter From the Storm. It's located on a mountainside overlooking the ocean, with beautiful views of both the jungle and the ocean.
My first priority is that a hotel room have some outside access, like a porch, lanai, or patio. After a day of sightseeing I want to relax, yet still enjoy the outdoors. Shelter From the Storm provided the most wonderful outdoor access I have ever found in 40 years of travel! The setting was simply incredible! We stayed at the smallest and least expensive villa, Baja Las Rocas, which had a large veranda with a gorgeous view of Coronado and the Oso Penninsula. We could actually see and hear the waves crashing on the rocks below. And the surrounding jungle was full of birds and monkeys. From our veranda we saw troops of monkeys swinging through the trees, huge blue butterflies, even a sloth. We saw more wildlife from our veranda and from the pool area than we did in 3 weeks at National Parks! Some of my most memorable moments in Costa Rica were relaxing at this hotel.
Our villa was beautiful: very private and comfortable, with ceiling fans in the bedroom and veranda and air-conditioning (we didn't need it). The bed was great and the large tiled bathroom had a huge walk-in shower. There was even a fully equipped kitchenette. Everything we needed was already there! The pool wasn't huge, but we had it all to ourselves most of the time. Think warm water, ocean views, flowers scenting the air, no mosquitoes!
The hosts Daryl and Donna were friendly and helpful. They recommended several wonderful beaches and restaurants we never would have found on our own,
This is not your typical hotel! We travel a lot, and this may be the most beautiful, interesting place we've ever stayed. Yet the price was very reasonable, similar to what we paid for normal hotels in Costa Rica, much less than the few luxury hotels we stayed at. We definitely plan on staying there again.
