Photos and Description of this Government Camp holiday condo 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, sleeps 8-10.

Our Condo is a spacious (1500sq ft), well appointed, 3 bedroom, 2 bath unit. The main living space is great place for friends and families to hang out with each other, watch movies, eat a fun family dinner (large antique table sets 10), or play games. Snowshoe, cross country, mountain bike, or hike right out the back door. You can ski all the way down from Timberline Lodge straight to our back door. We are 3-20 mins from all the local downhill ski resorts on Mt. Hood and on the west end of Govt. Camp Road, walking distance to the Brew Pub. The Thunderhead Lodge is a Historic Lodge that used to house the one and only Tram (1950) carrying folks up to the Timberline Lodge. This 11 unit Condo has the only geothermal pool in Government Camp (heated year around). Our unit is on the first of 3 floors and looks out over the pool with a gas barbecue on the back deck available for your use anytime. One floor down, in the common area, is a RecRoom with pool table, foosball, TV, and ping pong.

  • In addition to the 3 bedrooms, we have a hideabed in the large living space. It's the red couch in the main picture. There is also a trundle in the Bunk bed room. But it is very small and doesn't allow for any walking space between to two bottom bunks. It is used often by the smallest child or to fit 5 kids in the room, instead of just the 4. All other beds are very comfortable and nice to sleep on. We like comfortable beds and assume that others appreciate them as well!

Notes: The Condo is well stocked with nice supplies for cooking and general living. Bring your Ipod to plug in for music. There is a cord provided to plug into the receiver. Pool area is shared with 11 other units in the building. But is a nice big pool that is heated Geothermally and is usually in the 90-100degree range. The recroom is just one floor down and it has a nice historic fireplace and is a fun place to hang out too. Trials right out the back door. Make it easy to get a Mountain bike ride in or a hike up to Timberline Lodge, which is 3 1/2miles straight up!

There is so much to do in our surrounding areas. Skiing at 3 locations all under 10miles from Lodge. Ski Bowl (right across the street), Timberline and Mt. Hood Meadows---both about 8 miles away. The Columbia River Gorge is right down on the other side of the mountian---about 30-40mins away. Hiking, crosscountry skiing, & snowshoeing trials in abundance! Rivers, Waterfalls, Lakes, Scenic Mountain Views, & the amazing Timberline Trail which goes 40miles around the entire tip of the mountain, some of which is a part of the PCT. A cute local Museum which features history of the area, mountaineering, skiing in general, and displays local art is right in the heart of this alpine village. Don't forget to visit the Huckleberry Inn for Breakfast. Their Maple Bars are amazing and so is all their hearty breakfast choices---make sure you visit when your real hungry! Visit Carolyn at the little coffee house right next to Charlie's. Great coffee and a very nice local women too;-)
