Our estate is located on a hill with a magnificent view of the untouched landscape around Pisa. Tastefully restored and furnished, our house allows a tranquil and uplifting stay, not far from Florence, Pisa, Voltera, Sienna and the beaches of the Riviera.

The main house of Podere Toraglia (max.13 persons) has been carefully restored and tastefully furnished equipped with central heating TV and telephone. The entrance on the ground floor leads to a dining room, to a kitchen fully equipped with a professional gas-cooker and a laundry-room. An immense living room with a traditional fireplace and a cloakroom with shower and another fireplace room are situated on this floor. The first floor boats six ample double bedrooms ( 2 with double bed, 3 with each with two single bed and the last one with double beds and bathroom en suite)and four bathrooms.

On the whole we enjoyed our stay at this traditional property. The house is simply furnished and there was plenty of room for our large family.
The outdoor eating space was lovely and we all enjoyed the pool.
We felt the area around the pool could have been better with perhaps more paving or a better grassy area for the chairs.

During our stay it was very hot and dry; 35 to 40 degrees in the day and 24 to28 degrees at night which meant some uncomfortable nights ,despite the fans in each room, as upstairs gets very hot.

Our real complaint was the cooker which went out every time we used it leading to some very late evening meals as we had to wait a long time for things to cook. Also the pool would not be suitable for those with young children as there is no fence around it.

Lorenzana is a charming village with small shops , bars and a pharmacy. We visited the coast, Siena, Lucca and Florence. Casciana Terme was lovely for evening strolls and had the nearest small , well stocked supermarket.
The more adventurous in our party even made it to Pompei
You definitely need a car and lots of insect spray.
Thanks to the owner for the information by email and to the local contact for cleaning, linen and meeting us there.

Toskana wie sie sein muss

Wir sind jetzt schon zum dritten Mal mit einer grossen Gruppe in dem Haus gewesen. Es liegt einsam auf einem Hügel. Es ist ideal für eine grosse Familie oder Gruppe. Die Zimmer sind tadellos und mit Liebe im toskanischen Stil eingerichtet. Die Küche besitzt einen riesigen Gasherd und ist zweckmäßig eingerichtet.

Lage:
Für Rennradfahrer. Die Gegend ist noch nicht in gleichem Maße touristisch erschlossen und hat dementsprechend wenig Verkehr.
Für Touristen - alle Touri-Zentren sind in gut einer Stunde erreichbar. Falls man mit dem Flugzeug anreist - der Flughafen Pisa ist in 25km Entfernung.
Für Faulenzer: Es handelt sich um ein grosses Grundstück mit vielen Bäumen auf einem Hügel umgeben von Weizenfeldern. Sehr schön um die Kinder im Pool spielen zu lassen und selber ein Buch zu lesen.

Betreuung:
Eine 500m entfernt wohnende Nachbarin kümmert sich um einen und steht auf Wunsch auch als Köchin zur Verfügung.
Sie ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit.

Häuser:
Haupthaus ist toskanisch, zweckmäßig und gut.
Nebenhaus ist ein Traum und mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Für Innenarchitekten und "Schöner Wohnen" Liebhaber wirklich sehenswert.

Insgesamt kann man sagen: Sehr gute Lage für Strand (25km) für den Tagesausflüge (Lucca, Pisa, Florenz), Rennradfahren - hier fängt die typische Toskana an. Familien mit Kindern werden sich sehr wohl fühlen, da dass Haus und die Einrichtung unkompliziert ist. Weniger optimal ist es für Wein, auch wenn es ein paar Weingüter gibt.
Das Preis - Leistungs Verhältnis ist sehr gut.
