For those who like to venture out, Villa Makani is in a desirable section of Cape Coral and close to a variety of stores, restaurants, and entertainment, including cruises and fishing charters.
The Villa is near the Veteran’s Memorial (or Midpoint) Bridge to Fort Myers. Not only is Fort Myers the location of the spring training camp of the Boston Red Sox baseball team, it has beaches, restaurants, entertainment, and more. One of the more popular historical attractions is the Edison & Ford Winter Estates, which includes their homes, gardens, lab, and museum.
Sanibel Island is approximately a half hour drive and Captiva Island and Naples are approximately an hour drive from Villa Makani.

In addition, within walking distance of Villa Makani is the Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve. There are over 6,000 feet of nature trails, picnic areas, and (seasonal) kayak rentals.
Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve is the second largest preserved green space in Cape Coral. Four Mile Cove / “Eco Park” is a brackish water wetland area where potential wildlife sightings include, among others, eagles, ibis, herons, other wading & migratory birds, and raccoons.
