Cape Breton Island has been voted by Travel & Leisure Magazine as one of the best islands in the world along with Maui and Bali. The property is on one of the most scenic roads in the area wonderful for biking and long walks. The farmhouse has a newly remodeled kitchen and bathroom and is bright and airy designed to maintain the charm of a 100 year old farmhouse. Spectacular 360 degree water and mountain range views from each room. The beach on the property is a stroll across the fields and the 5 mile Inverness public beach, considered one of the most beautiful in the North Atlantic, and known for its plaster rock cliffs, is a 5 minute drive. Water temperature is in the low 70s and comfortable for swimming. An hour from Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Salmon fishing in the nearby Margaree River and hiking trails and waterfalls within 20 minutes.

Little House on the Cape

My wife, parents and I could not have been happier with our stay here. The house is completely charming. Renovated with a respect for it's past but modern, simple and comfortable inside and out. The charm began with the communications with the owners. They are very friendly, helpful and accommodating. We arrived late in the evening on the first night with a letter on the kitchen counter welcoming us, including a list of helpful suggestions of things to do and places to eat around the area, they were all a great help in making our family vacation such a success. I would definitely recommend this house to friends that are looking for a quiet getaway. Picking blueberries in the 50 acres of fields, exploring the Cabot Trail during the day and coming home for a bbq under the stars listening to the waves crash in the distance. Cape Breton charming in every way.
