This beautiful villa was renovated in 2002 and has conserved its typical Tuscany character. It is surrounded by olive groves and orchards and grants you a fascinating view onto the bay and the historical town of Portoferraio. The quiet and idyllic environment of the villa guarantees a very relaxing holiday. The closest beaches (pebbles and sand) are at a distance of approx. 1000 m. In the ground floor there is a spacious living-room with fireplace, a relaxing corner, a dining table and a grand piano. The furniture is partially antique. There is a separate kitchen which is well equipped with dishwasher and washing machine. The villa has 2 bed-rooms with two beds each and 1 bath-room. At the 1st floor there are 3 bed-rooms – two of them with view on the bay and balcony and 2 bath-rooms. In front of the living-room there is a terrace with view on the sea and accommodated with table, chairs, deck-chairs etc. On the entrance side, there is a garden, barbecue and another table etc

The Isle of Elba is the largest Island of the Tuscany Archiple – it measures 224 km and has about 30.000 inhabitants. For a long period it was mainly known for being the banishment of Napoleon. It is only during the last 50 years that this fascinating island has become known for its beauty and as tourist resort: It is called Jewel of the Mediterranean due to its wonderful landscape with vast bays, soft and white sandy beaches, rigid rocks, the colour of the deep blue sea reminding you of emeralds. Unique in Europe, the Isle of Elba is amazingly rich in minerals. The temperate Mediterranean Climate favours its rich vegetation, the perfume of flowers in spring, the abundantly growing Macchia, evergreen pine-trees and holm-oaks and, over and over again, the amazing blue of the sea! This island is paradise for those you love nature: it invites you to go trekking, wind-surfing, sailing, diving, canoeing etc. or just to relax on the beach.

Isle of Elba - Culture - Events

The Isle of Elba also is interesting for those who love culture. The history of Elba dates back to prehistoric epochs, to the era of Etruscans, Romans, Langobards, Saracens and, not so far back, to the short but very influencing period of the banishment of Napoleon. There are remains of Etruscan settlements, Roman Villas and churches, Fortress’ of the Spanish and of the Medici, the summer and winter Residence of Napoleon, etc. All over the year there are interesting events like the feasts of the patron-saints, there are markets and fairs, there are music festivals and competitions.

How to get to Elba

There is an airport on the Isle of Elba in Marina di Campo and during summer season there are regular flights from and to many European airports. For all those who come by car there are ferries from Piombino to Portoferraio (1 hour). It is absolutely important to make reservations for Saturdays during the summer season. I will be glad to help you. If you wish to arrive by train, this also is possible. You can go to Piombino Marittima and then take the ferry boat. On the Island itself there are taxis and buses or cars to hire. If you need any help, please tell me.
