Situated in rolling countryside 1 km from the medieval village of Ferrière Larçon, the apartment of the cottage on the Domaine de Châtre is an ideal location for a peaceful relaxing holiday but with the Chateaux and other tourist attractions of the Loire Valley within easy reach. The town of Liguel 4kms away offers excellent facilities; shopping, public swimming pool and tennis courts. Loches 14kms away is one of the prettiest medieval towns in France. The vibrant city of Tours is a 45 minutes drive. Spacious recently converted first floor apartment with balcony and Velux windows all around. It has a well-equipped kitchenette with microwave, oven, electric hob, fridge and washing machine. The studio room room is large with a double bed and single bed. It has a dining table seating 4. Eco-friendly with solar powered hot water system. Use of large garden (shared with cottage), own BBQ and garden furniture provided. TV, DVD, HiFi and WiFi broadband. Good mobile reception.

Peaceful rolling countryside ideal for those wanting to get away from it all. But scratch the surface and there is much to do. Canoeing and water park at Descartes, Swimming pool and tennis at Liguel, bicycles for hire, chateaux and vinyards to visit. Medieval Loches is an attractive tourist destination 20 minutes away. Tours is a popular medieval city with a renowned university 40 minutes' drive away. Futoroscope, the amusement park is at Poitiers, a similar distance away. Traveling around the local area, you see a wealth of medieval churches, chateaus and other buildings. Troglodyte buildings, half building and half cave are common, enjoy a pizza in a troglodyte pizzeria in Loches. Enjoy the local produce, goats cheese from Saint Maure, home pressed apple juice from Sepmes. See stunning fields of sunflowers in July. Enjoy local soft fruits from July onwards. Look out for each town's summer festival.

The cottage comprising the ground floor is also listed on HomeAway.com (property 233651). The two may be rented together making a 4 bed house with two en-suite and a family bathroom. Facilities: The garden is large (1800 m2) and is shared by the cottage and the apartment. The garden has rhubarb, cherry and pear trees. If in season, you are welcome to enjoy the fresh fruit. It has a number of private corners.The apartment has its own barbecue and garden furniture.In the shed, we keep 2 bicycles, a football, goal posts, small slide and other children's toys, for shared use.
