The apartment Omfali is located between Malia and Sissi in an altitude of about 80 meters on a quiet hill. From the panoramic terrace you have a breathtaking view over the bay of Malia with the fantastic sunsets in the sea and onto the Dikti-Mountains. Omfali is the upper apartment in a house with 2 apartments (downstairs: Alkmini no: 24922). Omfali was built in August 2000, it is modern and comfortably equipped and has access down to the garden over some stairs. To Malia with the most beautiful sandy beaches you need about 5 minutes by car, to Sissi on the other side, also about 5 minutes.

Malia is an active village with a lot of entertainment and shopping facilities. In the old town you will find the narrow streets and typical taverns. On the beach road there are shops, supermarkets, bars, discos and international restaurants. Malia offers one of the most beautiful and long beaches of the whole the island, right next to the interesting excavations of the palace of King Sarpidon. Sissi is a small fishing village with a romantic fishing harbour.

Excursions: Malia is a very central destination to start for many beautiful excursions all over Crete: to the famous excavations of Knossos, into the mountains to the plateau of Lassithi and the cave where Zeus was born..., to Agios Nikolaus and the small island of Spinalonga, to Rethymnon or to Chania, etc. 1-day-cruises to Santorini are possible, as well as hiking tours through the impressive Samaria-gorge.

Walks: All around our hill leads a hiking pass, about 45 minutes, partly bad road, that invites for a panoramic walk.

Olympic games 2004: During the Olympic Games 2004 in August some fottball-competition matches will take place in Heraklion.

'Es war einfach traumhaft! Es fehlen die Worte, zu beschreiben, wie schön ich es hier fand. Diese Wohnung mit dem göttergleichen Blick auf das Meer - und alles ist mit viel Liebe und Sorgfalt gestaltet.' *** 'Die herrliche Aussicht (auch bei Nacht!), eine super ausgestattete Wohnung, nette Gastgeber, viel Sonne, Ruhe und Meer - besser konnte es uns gar nicht gehen! Vielen Dank!' *** 'Alles wie zu Hause, nur besser: blaues Meer, tolle Aussicht, Familienanschluss, Fahrrad-Tour nach Sarakinas, Frühstück auf der Terrasse, tolle Tavernen mit vielen Köstlichkeiten, wir kommen wieder!'

komfortable Wohnung mit phantastischem Ausblick

Wir fanden eine sehr komfortable, gepflegte, saubere und liebevoll eingerichtete Wohnung mit phantastischem Ausblick vor. Man fühlte sich sofort, wie zu Hause. Die Vermieter haben an alles gedacht. Selbst der Wein, die Blumen und so mancherlei Kleinigkeiten für das erste Frühstück am Ankunfstag überraschen. Wer einmal dort übernachtet hat, wird sich immer gern daran erinnern:
Man hat das blaue Meer vor sich, wenn man will, die Bars und das laute Treiben von Malia, in 5 Minuten erreichbar, aber auch beschauliche Tavernen in Sissi und die Einsamkeit in den Bergen. Es ist einfach unbeschreiblich schön, außerdem auch ideal gelegen, um den Osten von Kreata zu erkunden.
Wir werden diese Ferienwohnung an unsere besten Freunde weiter empfehlen.

Ein lauschiges Plätzchen

..... der ideale Ort zum Abschalten, Ausspannen und Auftanken. Dieses Domizil können wir nur weiterempfehlen. Es liegt etwas abseits und erhöht, so dass man eine wunderbare Aussicht auf die Bucht von Malia hat. Es ist schön, auf der Terasse zu sitzen und den Sonnenuntergang zu beobachten, mit den Bergen im Hintergrund. Dieser Ort eignet sich hervorragend als Ausgangspunkt für viele schöne Ausflüge über die Insel, die für jeden etwas zu bieten hat. Die Ferienwohnung selbst ist sehr gepflegt und geschmackvoll eingerichtet, etwas zum Wohlfühlen. Ebenso verhält es sich mit den Außenanlagen. Die Vermieter sind offen, freundlich, hilfsbereit und gehen auf Wünsche ein. Wir kommen ganz sicher wieder.

Ferienwohnung mit Liebe zum Detail

Dieses Feriendomizil kann noch eher den Namen BELLA VISTA (Schöne Aussicht) tragen als die ca. 2 km entfernt liegende Appartmentanlage gleichen Namens. Als wir das erste Mal vor 4 Jahren den traumhaften Ausblick geniessen durften, hat es uns immer wieder hierher verschlagen.
Da nun auch das unabdingbare Auto im Mietpreis eingeschlossen ist, macht das Angebot nun erst recht attraktiv.
Die Liebe zum Detail fing schon damit an, dass frische Blumen auf dem Tisch standen, der Kühlschrank schon ein wenig gefüllt war (mit Wasser und Wein) und das Kleinigkeiten wie Nescafe und Knabbereien bereit standen.
In der Küche fehlt so gut wie nichts - Wasserkocher, Kaffeemaschine - also alles komplett. Wohnzimmer mit TV und Musikanlage ausgestattet - was will man mehr. Schlafzimmer sauber und liebevoll eingerichtet und eine reichhaltige Bücherauswahl in einer der Schrankschubladen.

Die Vermieter - eine ganz normale Familie mit 2 Kindern und Haustieren - sind nett und gehen auf die Wünsche der Gäste umgehend ein.

Wir waren bisher von unseren Aufenthalten im OMFALI immer begeistert, so dass wir ohne Bedenken und Umschweife diese Ferienwohnung weiterempfehlen können. Ausgangspunkt dieser Ferienwohnung sind für uns Exkursionen gewesen für Schluchtenwanderungen, Tagesfahrten nach Elounda und Spinalonga, Agios Niklolaos, die Lassiti-Hochebene und den schwarzen Strand von Ierapetra. Nicht zu vergessen den Palast von Knossos. Auch wenn es so noch viele Entdeckungstouren gibt, sollte man das Faulenzen am Strand von Malia aber auch unbedingt geniessen.

kann man hier machen. Die Ferienwohnung und die Außenanlagen sind so eingerichtet, dass man sich sofort wohlfühlt. Hier kann man so Urlaub machen, wie es einem gerade gefällt: Mal auf Wiese und Terrasse mit dem herrlichen Ausblick entspannen, mal einen Ausflug in die Strandstädte oder die Bergdörfer, Antike und Klöster, Berge und Meer - wer Lust hat, ein wenig von Kreta zu erleben, ist hier genau richtig. So kann man auch schon in der Vor- und Nachsaison bereits schöne Tage verbringen. Wir waren in den Osterferien 2007 da und haben nicht nur die wunderschönen Sonnenuntergänge in Erinnerung, sondern auch eine sehr freundliche und unkomplizierte Gastgeberfamilie, denen wir auch an dieser Stelle noch einmal herzlich danken möchten. Wir werden sicher auch noch einmal einen Sommer nach Omfali kommen.
