During the summer months, Crested Butte the 'Wildflower Capital' is host to the Wildflower Festival in July as well as many athletic races ranging from Fat Tire Bike Week in June to the 1/3 Marathon from Gothic to downtown Crested Butte every 4th of July. Additionally, the Gunnison Valley is home to some of the best fly fishing around. Or If you prefer the more laid back approach to experiencing the mountains, late September into early October is peak time to watch the Aspens glow.
