This holiday rental near Venice is a renovated farmhouse in the main square of the picturesque village of Losson della Battaglia. Just across from the village church, the house is conveniently next door to the grocery shop, a fun brew pub, an excellent trattoria, bakery, gelato shoppe, barber and beauty shops.
This vacation accommodation in the Veneto has been recently renovated to to offer the conveniences of modern living in a traditional country setting. Comfortably and tastefully furnished and sleeping four, the house was designed to minimize impact on the environment, with a shut-off shower head to minimize water waste, a new energy conserving washing machine and a pellet-burning stove providing the house with clean heat. In fact this region is proud to be recognized at the forefront in environmental responsibility.
Relaxing country life and cities nearby:
In addition to visiting the ever magical city of Venice, which is a 20-minute train ride away, there is much to do and see in the area. We provide two new bicycles for you to enjoy the country roads and visit the area. For example:
- Outdoor markets where one can purchase everything from fresh produce to apparel to hardware - there is a particularly large one every Monday morning in nearby San Dona' di Piave (bus stop to San Dona' is across the street).
- San Dona' is quite a nice cosmopolitan town to visit and window shop. It is also the main hub for buses to the region. From here one can go to the airport, the beaches, other cities, shopping mall (Centro Piave), the casino' and the ever popular clothing designers outlet.
- Treviso is a wonderful medieval town (but, very modern) surrounded by walls and a moat and closed to cars. It is best to take the bus (also across the street). Treviso is the home of prosecco and radicchio.
More things to do....:
Every weekend, the small towns have street fairs, open air markets (mercatini), musical events, and local celebrations; it depends on the season. We will keep you informed on the events and celebrations during your stay.
- SportsHotel L' Ancora, 100 meters from Casa Patrizia, has a golf course and very nice swimming pool open to the public for a small fee.
- The famous beaches of Jesolo, Caorle, Cavallino, Eraclea, etc... are about 10 miles away. Easily reached by bus services from San Dona' or by car - be prepared for traffic back-ups during the summer weekend (esp. on Sunday)-.
-Wines. In addition to prosecco, the Veneto has been very successful at developing wines with French and German grape varieties, notably Merlot, Cabernet, Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio, Müller-Thurgau, Chardonnay, Riesling, and Gewürztraminer. There are many small private wineries all around.
