General:
Montrose (the Museum District) is one of the very few neighborhoods in Houston where one can exist blissfully without a car. Public transportation includes Metro Light Rail and/or Bus system. From the airports you can take the shuttle. Being in the inner city, taxis are ample.
Museums, art galleries, parks, the Westheimer bar scene, restaurants (casual to starred), are walkable. We're one-three miles from the Houston Opera, The Hobby Center, Alley Theater, Minute Maid Park, the Toyota Center, etc. We're across the street from the High School for Performing and Visual Arts, a world-class high school of budding artists.
We love and accept well-behaved children and pets: The dogs must be brushed down daily: outside, have all their shots, be comfortable with people (the housekeeper), and be retained in a kennel while you are absent. This is a well attended dog walking neighborhood.
Medical:
We are two miles north of the world-renowned Medical Center.
