Photos and Description of this Palm Springs holiday house House Plus Guest House, 4 Bedrooms + Den, 3.5 Baths (Sleeps 8-12)

Behind a big thick green hedge that faces the street, is the very private former vacation get-away property to many 'old-hollywood' stars, including: Judy Canova, Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, and Groucho Marx The house was built in the 1930’s in the Spanish ranch/mission style with all the rooms opening up onto the deck celebrating the original pool and dramatic desert mountain/palm tree views. The house is mostly original with the exception of new appliances, amenities and tile work such as the all Travertine master bathroom. There is a main house with a big new kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances and lots of work space making it easy to use by caterers. There is a living room/dining room with a grand fireplace, French doors leading out to the deck and museum grade stained glass windows purchased and commissioned by the former film pioneer, Irvin Willat, for his true love, Ms. Billie Dove who eventually ran away with Howard Hughes.

The El Mirador neighborhood is next door to the Movie Colony which is part of the Old-Hollywood community of Palm Springs during the 1940's-1960's. It maintains lots of the charm and character. We are located 3 driving minutes from the palm springs strip which includes dozens of restaurants, shops and art galleries, as well as the spa resort and casino.

The main house has a great master bedroom with fireplace and a very rich master bath. There is also a junior suite, and a den which can be converted into another bedroom. There is a bungalow with two bed rooms, a main living space with a 65 in TV and a full outdoor kitchenette. There are eighteen palm trees that rise tall and proud into the blue California sky and at night look like fireworks frozen in time. There are bird of paradise, olive trees and some of the best citrus trees in the world. The house is open as a venue for events such as weddings, receptions, photo and film shoots, or as a short term vacation rental.
