If you're looking for that perfect mountain escape where you can kick back by the New River, Misty River Retreat is just the place for you. With 2500 feet of river frontage and forty secluded private acres, it offers endless opportunities for relaxation. While sipping your morning coffee on the front deck, you can watch the mist rise off the river and occasionally spot a nesting eagle or a timid deer crossing through the yard. Many enjoyable hours can be spent canoeing, fishing, or tubing in the river. The spacious home includes a master bedroom with a private deck that overlooks the river, a well equipped kitchen, gas grill, TV with satellite service, and DVD player. Linens are provided.

Misty River Retreat was Peaceful and Immaculate

We spent 2 nights with our teenagers and had a wonderful time. We grilled dinner and then relaxed by the fire outside. We loved watching the many different birds and my son even saw a deer! The house is huge and very comfortable and immaculatly clean. Very good location to experience total privacy and yet very near shops and towns.

Misty River Retreat - Wow!!

My husband and I had some vacation time coming from work and a friend recommended the Misty River Retreat in Fries, VA. We were fortunate that it was available when we had our vacation time. We just returned yesterday and wished we would have had more time off. There’s always next year and we are definitely going to return and stay longer! We cannot say enough wonderful things about this retreat. We did not lack for anything to do. We especially enjoyed the early mornings sitting on the deck with a cup of coffee and the evenings were so romantic. We’d sit on the deck and watch the sunset with a glass of wine. If you want to get away from it all – don’t think twice about it – go to the Misty River Retreat. Even if you have children, don’t hesitate – take them along - you will all enjoy yourselves. A special thank you to the owners – we couldn’t be more pleased!!!!

Misty River Retreat 3 Day Stay

Some friends and myself ( 8 of us in all), spent two nights and three days in this lovely home. We had an amazing time. The house was well equipped with everything we needed, in fact we cooked all of our meals in house. The view of the river was beautiful and most of our time was spent either swimming (although it was a bit cold), reading by the lake, or just relaxing in the sun. If you want to get away and just be surrounded by the peace and tranquility of nature, this is the place for you.

A Fun Time was Had by All

We spent a 4-day weekend at Misty River Retreat and found the house extremely clean and the view of the river absolutely calming. We opened the balcony door at night and listened to the sound of silence. It was refreshing. It rained one day while we were there but we found it quite tranquil to just laze in the house and read books (there are plenty downstairs) or chat with each other. What a nice getaway.

Our Stay at Misty River Retreat

Our family had a perfect stay at Misty River Retreat. The view of the river is excellent and the accommodations were wonderful. The beds were very comfortable and the house was immaculate. Our family would like to thank the owners for their assistance with my dad who is handicapped.

If you are looking for a perfect get-away this is the place

I would suggest additional TV's upstairs.
