Quiet, private, 1920s cottage on historic register, 1 mile from Nokomis beach and downtown Venice, 2 miles from Venice beaches. Decorated with comfortable 'old Florida' furnishings, the cottage is within walking distance of antiques shops and restaurants, and easy biking distance to beaches and quaint downtown Venice. Just a tenth of a mile from the Sarasota Legacy bike Trail, across the street from Pocono Trail Preserve and Shakett Creek, two blocks from Nokomis Community Center, with tennis courts, fishing, educational classes and more. Easy access to US 41 and I-75. Bedroom has a pillowtop queen bed, an armoire and a spacious closet. Quality linens, bath and beach towels provided. Kitchen has granite countertops, side-by-side stainless steel fridge, glass-topped electric range, and quality cooking equipment. Filtered water. High efficiency central a/c and heat, ceiling fans. A Little Cottage Refuge

Since 2000 I've spent some time each winter in this cottage. There is a garden I've used to relax and read. Several lovely wide beaches are a five or 10-minute drive away. The kitchen is clean, well-equipped and there are linens and wifi. The owner is onsite and usually available to answer questions. The space is just right for one person or two people who like each other. There are shops and fresh vegetables and fruits within an easy drive. I definitely will be returning for some time in future years and would recommend this cottage to a friend.

Great vacation cottage

A wonderful 20s style cottage within biking distance of the beach and charming shopping district. My daughter and I spent and idyllic week there last year.
Quiet and lovely, yet with all the modern amenities. We were able to use our laptops, watch movies or just hang out in the neighborhood. The beach at Venice is clean and not crowded at all, with the usual lovely Florida water.
I come from Boston and this was a complete and different experience...which everyone agrees makes for a great vacation.
