This neighborhood is so centralized that you do not even need a car. This small, but densely concentrated cradle of the hippie movement has tried to retain much of its flower-power, peace and love appeal. Architecture buffs will want to take a look at the regal Victorians on the Panhandle—the grassy, tree-lined strip extends east from Golden Gate Park along Fell and Oak Streets.
